I am taking my car to a local muffler shop to have the custom exhaust made and I am wondering what you guys would recommend for the V8 LS? I want a muffler that is pretty quiet with a little throat to it and when under wot sounds good but not too loud. I am told the flowmaster 40-series are good for this car. I need am also thinking should I get a new X-Pipe or eliminate it and just have 2 duals back with no resonators and some high flow mufflers/tips...any pics/setups of your guys setups?

Can't recommend muffler or exhaust from experience with this car, but in general

X Pipes are better performing that straight duals. The scavenging effect of both banks of cylinders supposedly improves the performance. I think it also mellows out the exhaust note. I would tell the shop the kind of driving you do and what you want from the car and see what they recommend, but more than likely the X pipe should stay.

I have heard the flowmasters are decent.

Good Luck,
