Lately, I've been getting a mildew/mold type of smell from my A/C vents. I know this is fairly common but is there something that smells better than Lysol that can be sprayed into the A/C vents to eliminate the odors, and work for a long term? I searched the forums but didn't find anything relating to this topic?
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this for me.

You might have a coolant leak. Does it smell sweet?

Nope, the smell is mold or mildew that has formed in the vents. It is definitely not anti-freeze.

Could you flush vents with mold killer, like you would clean tile with or something to kill the heart of the problem? Just a thought, not sure if it's feasible.

Replace your cabin filter if you have one. I have heard that mice or rats or cats get trapped around the engine compartment in cold weather and get chewed up by the fan belts. Happened to me. Dead rat found in front of radiator. Trying to keep warm. The stink just filters back to the interior.
