Joeychgo June 16th, 2004, 01:04 PM ok, IM almost done with this.
For those unaware I have been building a tech/how to section for our site. I am almost done with it - now I just need articles to place in it!
I have a few donated by members -- but need much much more. Lets really make this comprehensive.
All vehicles including:
Lincoln LS
Lincoln Mark VII
Lincoln Mark VIII
Lincoln Town Car
Cadillac CTS
Cadillac Seville
All Lincolns and Cadillacs!
Articles could be simple - "how to change the oil" or as involved as "swapping engines" Doesnt matter. I want this to be usable for those who just do basic maintenence and for those who do more.
This also includes detailing, washing and waxing of our cars! WHats the best way to make the car look fabulous? Tell us your secrets!!!
Some guidelines for articles -
Clearly written and easy to understand -
Detailed - dont assume the reader knows everything-
Photos of key points (can do videos also)
Parts needed -
Tools Needed-
Come on everyone - email your articles to me at joeychgo@lincolnvscadillac.com. You'll get full credit of course....
Thanks for helping everyone!!!!!

jdlmkviii June 17th, 2004, 03:15 PM Since I've had some trouble with the trunk alignment on my Mark VIII, you can count on me for an article on how to adjust that.

I'm new here, but would like to see your tech section with a search engine for each do-it-yourself repair or upgrade project. E.g. like the fuel pump replacement job nicely done with pictures and submitted by members. Some of the owners are excellent mechanics.
Click
p.s. still looking for an answer to my question, namely, 'should' i be able to hear the fuel pump on a Mk8 by listening at the fuel tank filler for example.?
codewize August 3rd, 2004, 09:46 PM I have something that was helpful to know in a pinch. The pins that read the VATS resistor in the key go bad in my 89 Seville. It's not the reader it just the contact in the ignition cylinder that get worn. I could explain how to get your car started to get it home.

That is a good idea. But right now I don't think it is big enough to warrant a need for a search. Maybe it will be more applicable if the section gets large enough that you can't quickly read all the titles.
