One need no further proof that to see the fiasco that is the AFL-CIO. The split that will be the final blow to the unions (private) in this country.

Unions used to be a good thing. They looked out for the little guy who was being trampled on by the big corporations during the industrial age. But once the laws and regulations that the union had fought for were in place, the union had to figure out another purpose. And anyone who has ever taken Government 101 knows that a system's number 1 goal is to remain a system. The union has to reinvent itself in order to continue to exist.

Unfortunately, the leaders of the big unions no longer worry about the plight of the little guy members. They worry about their big six-figure (seven?) jobs.

Just my $0.02, but I studied labor relations in college and worked in a union environment for eight years.
