20" rims rubbing on LS

I have some Boss 304 20" rims on my LS.. I had to have adapters made for the lug pattern because i bought the rims from a buddy in need of some cash and they are chevy bolt pattern. The rims are 20 x 8.5 plus 2" thick in adapters.. as you can imagine the rims kinda stick out - any suggestions?

also they rub alot front and back - anyone have the same experience? I took one of the front fender inside walls out (drivers side), is this ok? should I upgrade the suspension? any suggestions here are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
TiziteLayinLow

Man, in my opinion (bought "explorer rims" that were atually expedition rims and needed adapters" try to sell the rims you have. itll only get worse, especiall on the ls the fender is gonan rub no matter what u do with an adapter on it. if you dont mind what did you pay for em? try putting em on ebay or something and get the right rims in your pattern and the correct offset. pm me if you have any questions. do you have any pics of the rims id like to see how far they stick out.

Uh, I think you have posted this in the wrong post. You might want to find the appropriate Cadillac folder and post it there for a better response.

Hey my LS has the 1.75" inch sprint lowering springs on and I just put 20" rims off of another LS, but my rims keep rubbing on the outside of the fender. Any suggestions?

What's the offset on your wheels? Do they rub in the front and rear or rear only? If it's rear you can trim the fender liner a bit, if the front then you should find some new wheels.

You can roll the fenders ( both of them ), what is the width? They shouldn't rub that bad if at all if its the right width and the right tire.

You did say they came from another LS, why did he sell them? Maybe he had the wrong set up, also to be honest I like 19's but 20's should not rub if they are the right combo so I would check the shocks/struts. Maybe the alignment also.

You shpould post a pic cause , I never seen it rub OUTSIDE the fender.

Yeah he sold them because apparently it was his wife's car, and she thought black on black looked tacky. I dont know what brand the rims are he paid over 2 grand for them but the tires are top of the line Falkens. He said he never had a problem with them rubbing. Mine is so bad that it has now cracked the front driver's side fender, so I have ordered new front fenders from the Fast Parts Auto Network. It rubs the back liner so I am going to modify that. I have bought a fender roller for the new front fenders, but I'm taking the 20's off for the winter tomorrow anyways. I figure I will put the new fenders on in spring, roll them, and then send the car in for the new paint job before I show it.

Just take some pics now I would like to see how far your rims stick out with it lowered. Mine is lowered and my rear times are tucked a little so I believe you would rub all the time like you said.
