Brakes

Are the Front Cobra Brake Rotors a direct bolton to a 98 LCS?

What about the rears? If they are not, are the Cobra... parts that the calipers bolts onto swappable to an LSC? I want to call it a spindle, but that's not it...

Thanks for your help.

No they are not a bolt on deal.

The cobra uses a different bolt pattern on the studs, so you would need to either, have the Cobra rotors drilled for the 5x108mm hole spacing, or find someone that supplies them like that already.

*Taken from an e-mail from a buddy*
"If you want to upgrade the rears as well, you will need the cobra rotors and reuse your stock calipers since they are using bigger pads than the cobra ones. Just buy an extension bracket from fastED on tccoa or fab up your own, since the rotor offset is like 5mm different on the cobra as well as the rotor is a little over 1" larger."

Also, you are going to need 17" wheels or bigger to fit them over the new front brakes. Here is a little advice......Stay as far away from aimco (SP) rotors as you can. I have had NOTHING but bad luck with them as far as warping, and durability. I try to buy american steel as much as possible even tho it costs a bit more.

94, thanks for hat info.

Lugi, I did. But they don't have anything in 13" rear rotors/calipers for the Mark VIII. The Gentleman at dbRus was very knowledgeable, and very professional. But nevertheless, he suggested 13" for the fronts and... 11.5?? IIRC inches for the rears. IMHO that would just look ghey.

I'm going to research this matter a bit more. Thank you for your input so far. Any more input/suggestions are welcome.

Thanks again.

Why would it look Gay? Alot of cars have smaller brakes in the rear compared to the front. Hell, the cobra does'nt have 13's in the back, 11 something I think.

You don't need anything bigger than 11.5 in the rear, the front does 80% of the braking, I bought the drilled & slotted brakes from dbru, go to customer photo gallery, mine is the green mark VIII, if you get them there make sure you have the rotors & calipers powder coated, it looks great !!!!!!!!

right now i have stock gt 10.5" rotors up front and 11.5" cobra rotors in the rear, and that looks kinda funky, but not too bad.. you really dont notice that the fronts are smaller..
but thats temporary, its just another step to the 13" kit.. getting it moving again is priority 1

Hmmm...

I would have thought the two different sizes would look goofy. They guy at dbRus owes you guys a couple of cases of beer. You sold a full brake set for him.

Thank you gentlemen.
