MarkOfDeath July 20th, 2005, 09:19 AM Went to the strip the other day, ran a 14.429 all day it was 97 degrees thou I went to have fun. I did get a 2.1 60 foot time so sweet. I weighed the car it was 3750 with driver but last night I took everything out of the trunk and I took the passenger seat out to compansate for the hot weather.
Oh I can get a dyno tune for 299, is that a sweet deal, its a flash not a chip so sny one got pros and cons
I beat a saturn REDLINE I thought those were quick he was running 15.4s all day.
Also I was running better times then the mustang cobra (non S/Cs) guys and forget the GT they were in the 15s lol
NYC LS8 July 20th, 2005, 09:23 AM Is that on the juice? What speeds did you trap at?
JoeyLincolnMK8 July 20th, 2005, 09:28 AM sounded like fun, having a mark viii run consistent times like that is tuff.
MarkOfDeath July 20th, 2005, 09:36 AM whoa no jiuce till I get a tune I dont want to mess up anything, and my trap speed is 98
NYC LS8 July 20th, 2005, 10:00 AM Very nice! :Beer
MarkOfDeath July 20th, 2005, 10:05 AM ya do you know if getting an dyno tune SCT flash is any good
JoeyLincolnMK8 July 20th, 2005, 10:08 AM when i got my SCT chip they did a dyno tune, i recommend it!
MarkOfDeath July 20th, 2005, 10:11 AM this is for a flash not a chip
JoeyLincolnMK8 July 20th, 2005, 10:31 AM mmmmmkay!
driller July 20th, 2005, 10:53 AM this is for a flash not a chip
Only OBD-II is flashable, I thought.
That means the Gen1(OBD-I) needs a chip to be flashed for a dynotune.
Nice times! :Beer
But you cheated taking out the seat dude. Run what you brung! Next thing you know you'll be lookin' like some of then ricers, with stripped interiors to compensate for that big wing and heavy ground effects. :Bang
MarkOfDeath July 20th, 2005, 11:57 AM Im getting the tune no matter what I have to do. However that wont get me to 13s so I need some UD pullys but I have a couple of choices
I could get BBK polished 3 piece for 8-15Hp for 138$ for a little bling under the hood
OR
I could get March Performance Ford 4.6L Fluid Dampener Pulley dyno proven 12 HP for 109$
Lincolns Own July 20th, 2005, 11:59 AM nice runs... ricer boy :joke

1. Don't belive the HP ratings.
2. IMHO the crank pulley from Steeda is all you need(but I guess you could use the March as well).
I'm convinced the 3-piece pulley set is too much for our cars.
Since I put the crank pulley on, I picked up a 'little HP' but I noticed slightly lower alternator output and slightly higher operating temps(doh!). With the new sound system and my cooling fan over-ride, I couldn't tolerate being borderline on the alternator. I 'fixed' the alternator output by putting a SMALLER(overdrive) pulley on it. I plan to 'fix' the temp issue with the install of the electric water pump and possibly a separate stand-alone tranny cooler since I've also aggravated that issue with the converter. :steering
brentalan July 20th, 2005, 07:32 PM Driller - would a lower temp thermostat help you?
jdlmkviii July 20th, 2005, 08:26 PM I have the 3 piece March Pulley set... I've noticed a little more pickup.... but nothin that much. Engine temp. is also pretty much the same, I haven't noticed any notable higher temperatures and I have 750 watts worth of subs in my trunk.... haven't noticed any problems with alternater output either.

They make one lower than 160?! :joke
