This one will be a lot less cold. The Soviets never had the economic might, the Chinese will/do.

I say we duke it out with them right now. Take a lesson from Patton who said the same thing about the Russians in 1945 at the end of dubya dubya two. Boy we wish we had listened to him.

(I realize that my statement might be viewed by some as extreme, so I eagerly await discussion)

As a guy that imports alot of stuff from China for a living, I say we stop buying from them. Period. We are fueling all their growth both domestically and militarily. It may be too late already. They now have the infrastructure to grow on their own, using their own markets and a billion people to market to.

I see Taiwan falling to China within 15 years and there will be nothing we will be able to do about it unless we deploy the incapacitating (without) killing weapons that are currently in development.

These guys are numerous like grains of sand on the beach. They could literally form a channel bridging the Taiwan Strait with their bodies.
