the automatic lights on my car come on all the time now, in the dark, no matter what i set the switch to. This happened ever since i cleaned my dash with a meguiars vinyl treatment. do you think i damaged the switch or the sensor?

yes, they come on when the switch is set to off, usually when it's dark but sometimes during the day as well. if it sounds like a switch to you guys then I guess I should pick up scott's switch and sensor. What do you think?

ok so i'm an idiot. Never having used the feature before, i didn't realise that it had a "click to off" switch - i was just rolling the switch all the way down, and all that does is decrease the delay for the lights turning off when you turn off the car. I must have de clicked it while cleaning it. Thanks for bearing with my stupidity guys.

And I was just going to post about how you could be cool :rolleyes: like the GM folk, and drive around with your lights on ALL the time, day or night. lmao.

Never having used the feature before, i didn't realise that it had a "click to off" switch - i was just rolling the switch all the way down, and all that does is decrease the delay for the lights turning off when you turn off the car.
