I've been having a problem with my alternator (sp) tonight a message came up " circle slowly to cal " WTF does that mean ?

Yes, and no. A whole host of strange things happen when the alternator/charging system starts to go bad. That is not necessarily an indication that the alternator/charging system is going bad, but can be, especially if it is associated with other electrical problems......or the dreaded......"Check charging system" warning. :Beer

have you battery checked out? Mine was doing all kinds of stuff , HAVC not liting up, abs lite coming on , yet no charging system message ..... and a bad battery could kill the Alt. it did mine

The " check charging system " did come up, I'm replacing the alternator today, I hope thats the problem, cuz I have a battery thats only a year old.

most likely it is the alt. but you can try the alt test, i think you disconnect the + on the battery terminal, and you should be running off of the alt? someone here can chime in on this, cause i forgot.
