The marks have a 2 gallon reserve, When I have lets say 2 gallons left and I put in 6 I get 10 gallons to empty, its so the rich people who bought these new didnt get ashamed walking to the gas station. I really dont have any other proof besides my friend driving 30 miles when the dash said TANK IS EMPTY

:Bang :mad:Bring along a 1-1/2 gallon gas can and fill it up and see what you come up with. Or switch stations.

yea, don't use a 1 or 5 or 10 gallon can to test the pumps accuracy. the unscrupulous stations that have been caught rippin ppl off used a module that would 'modify' the pulse output of the delivery system in the pump to make the display read properly at those intervals, but were way off on others! What I mean is that if you pumped 1 gallon on a bad pump, you got one gallon, but if you pumped 2.5, you might have only gotten 2 gallons. took quite a bit of engineering (and a small single chip microcomputer that was the brains of the module), to pull it off, but it passed the state inspections, because they only checked it at 'even qty's'.....

i'm confused.
i read the first post thinking that he is filling his car up until the pump "kicks" off and he cant get anymore in.
but his 96 only showed 16 gallons on the display incar, and the 97 only shows 17 on dash.
am i reading his post wrong?
