RustyBaker July 14th, 2005, 01:03 PM i would like to do a few things to make my 93 sound more like an 05. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make my interior a little more rigid in its old age. I want to get rid of the sqeeky squiling noise i hear when i hit a rough road especially.
94m5 July 14th, 2005, 02:08 PM Subframe connectors help out alot. I "dynomatted" everything on my 94 and it made it sound like a brand new car.

JC1994 July 14th, 2005, 02:16 PM Does anybody make sub-frame connectors for the Mark VIII or do you have to make your own?
1wykdmk8 July 14th, 2005, 02:26 PM I have heard/seen ppl use the Kenny Brown subframe connectors on our cars before. Not sure if they make them specific for the Mark, but have seen them used before. :Beer
JC1994 July 14th, 2005, 02:34 PM Thanks again Ray. as always your knowledge is greatly appreciated! I think I may look into subframe connectors for my car. When I put them on my Mustang they made a big improvement in handling and ride, they are Kenny Brown super subs.

RustyBaker July 15th, 2005, 11:51 AM what would you dynomat, how does that work?

You pull the interior and the trunk apart, and lay the sound deadener down on the bare metal. I went with 2 layers on the floorpan, and a single layer on everything else. For all of the interior pieces, I used sprayable sound deadener on the back of them.
Overall it makes the interior whisper quiet, and your radio does'nt have to work as hard for you to hear it. I have also noticed that the climate control does'nt work as hard either.

fossten July 16th, 2005, 06:32 PM Wow. This rocks. I just read this and my mouth just hung open. I can't wait to try this.
Is it difficult?
Is it expensive?

Wait a minute...from what I see on the site it would cost thousands of dollars to redo a car. Am I missing something here?
Frogman July 16th, 2005, 10:41 PM Dynamat is spendy stuff... for a reason.

Ya it is I would like to get some but I can't afford it, before I got my Mark I was going to load alot of dynamat in my 71 Ford and just deck that baby out. But I got my Mark and just gonna try my hardest to deck it out.
1wykdmk8 July 16th, 2005, 11:45 PM There are alot of companies out there that make dynamat type materials. Stinger makes it....Road Kill.....among others. You could also try Fat Mat (http://www.fatmat.com/). They look pretty good, and are a bit cheaper than the original dynamat. :Beer

Yeah, that FatMat looks as good as any and it's a dollar a square foot. Pretty good stuff. Thanks a lot.

No problem. I have been in the stereo industry in one manner or another for over 15 years now. Anything you need when it comes to stereo stuff just let me know....up to and including wiring diagrams for some vehicles. :Beer

Can you tell me why my left speakers keep going in and out? And now the rear left one is bursting static - very loudly no matter how the volume is set.

JBL yes.
1wykdmk8 July 18th, 2005, 12:46 PM It is quite a possibility that the factory amp is going bad. What I would do is check the connections at the speakers and check the connection at the amp and see if any are loose. Start there. The rear speaker may just be that the tabs broke off that hold the tweeter in place and it is grounding itself.

I'll check it out thx.
