Has anyone had any experience with the SPIDER EXTREME valve system from American Air Suspension? At $199 it seems kind of pricy on top of the cost of a new compressor. Is it worth it?

It was pretty easy to install since I already pulled out the silencer outta there a few weeks ago. The car drops to the ground at least twice as fast than it used to stock (I have the "ray switch" lowering kit). The venting sound is much louder now, too. Overall, I love it so far. And I didn't even mention the moisture removing capabilities, which is the main selling point. 1wykdmk8 July 13th, 2005, 10:27 PM I have Eddies original spider valve, and I swear by it. If you have my 'Ray switch kit', the car goes to the ground faster than in stock trim. The biggest deal with the spider valve is it does not allow any moisture to get to your compressor. Moisture is the BIGGEST killer for any compressor. It goes inline with the compressor, but before it so any moisture is vented to the atmosphere......and it sounds kool when it does it. Hope that helps..... :Beer lincolnboy July 13th, 2005, 10:30 PM I have Eddies original spider valve, and I swear by it. Or are you talkin about risin without havin to restart the car? lincolnboy July 13th, 2005, 10:54 PM I will not make it rise. Or are you talkin about risin without havin to restart the car? yes, on the part of not having to turn off car to raise...... 1wykdmk8 July 13th, 2005, 11:03 PM yes, on the part of not having to turn off car to raise...... I am not currently selling the kit for a while, but when I start selling them again I will have that either as an option, or will sell it that way.....so you do not have to shut the car off, then back on to make the car raise. I will be testing it on my car soon to make sure that it works. The only bad thing is with this kit there will be some cutting of wires....nothing too difficult, but will require a bit more work than my original kit. I will also be making a kit to upgrade my current kits so you can retrofit it to make the car raise without starting the car. :Beer JMiles_T July 14th, 2005, 12:41 PM Has anyone had any experience with the SPIDER EXTREME valve system from American Air Suspension? At $199 it seems kind of pricy on top of the cost of a new compressor. Is it worth it? Yes, definitely! In fact, you should get one now, even if your active suspension is still working fine. The Spider Extreme is an additional set of dryers, and a replacement vent solenoid. It'll extend the life of your suspension components. I got one for my '93 after the OEM vent solenoid on mine rusted shut. Problem was, it wasn't able to lower itself, and it raised itself so high that it started looking like an SUV and didn't drive well. If the solenoid had rusted open instead of shut, my Mark VIII would have lowered too close to the ground to drive. After I installed the Spider Extreme, the car was able to raise and lower itself properly again. Onlookers get a kick out of the 'click PSHHHHHHH click' sound when I park the car too. I'm in college now, and paying for my classes myself, so as you can imagine, I don't consider $199 to be chicken feed. That said, I have no regrets about spending the money to get it. (Eddie gave me free shipping too!) Frogman July 14th, 2005, 02:33 PM Does anyone have a link/number to American Air Suspension? Mt friend tEh :google: isnt cooperating with the search. Which lines? 1wykdmk8 July 14th, 2005, 05:51 PM What's that? Which lines? He is talkin about the factory hard lines that are on the car that go to each bag from the compressor. The bigger the lines the faster it should move......but the factory compressor would prolly not have enuf umph to operate the 3/8" lines.....plus you would have to drill out each bag to fit the bigger lines and the compressor for the bigger lines.......if you were to do that, might as well go with 1/2" lines and either a bigger, or another compressor designed for the bigger lines. :Beer Frogman July 14th, 2005, 06:31 PM American Air Suspension (www.americanairsuspension.com) Thank you sir. NYC LS8 July 14th, 2005, 07:02 PM I've had the original spyder valve in my car a little under a year, and like School Zone said, the faces people make when you get out of the car is priceless. I can't tell you how many dates were like, "your car is making noise like the tires are going flat" lol :Beer 1wykdmk8 July 14th, 2005, 07:26 PM Thank you sir. :Beer :Beer | ||||
