I have a 95 lincoln continental i was wondering
i hear all the time about tranmission coolers
should i get one do i need one
what do they do
are they in the car alredy

Your 95 Conti's AXODE already has a stock transaxle cooler. In the picture below, you can see the two line connections at the center right side of the transaxle.

There is always room for improvement in stock coolers, but unless you are planning some mods, the stock cooler should be sufficient. Next time you change fluid, use Mobil 1 ATF for added protection.

If you carry of pull heavy loads. Then a larger then stock is in order. Something you might also want to consider is buying an inline canister filter(like an oil filter). Both add years to the life of a tranny.

Where is the stock cooler mounted? Behind the radiator?
