Differential question

When I bought my car the guy had already put 410s in and didnt notice anything about the rear end cause aI didn't really do that many burnouts. however now that I put the new engine in I've been getting on the car alot and have noticed that only my drivers side tire spins.. sometimes I get both to spin but not often. so I'm pretty sure he had the gears put back in the original housing, but I have the recipt and the cost was $880... that seems pretty high for gears and not changing the housing to posi doesn't it? and my second question cause I know very little about rear ends... do I loose any power or any ill effects by having 4.10's and no posi... other than the fact that my drivers tire is bald and needs to be replaced in the next week or so..

hmmm.... $880 is a heck of a lot. im guess probably mustang magic over there in LI installed them, cause they love to over charge, and not do the job right. you need a posi unit installed whenever you get a chance. on your second question i have no idea about loss of power, somehow i do not think posi will do that. anyone else care to chime in???

haha heard alot of bad stuff about mustang magic? lol thats who did it.. its funny they really do suck, I dynoed my 93 mark there like 2 years ago and the #'s on the dyno seemed about right, but they didn't know how to dyno it... I posted my dyno sheets on the 1st mark message board and a few ppl were telling me they had no idea how to dyno a car.
Trust me I want to get a posi in there but I don't have alot of funds to do so.. and the next major thing I am doing to my car is either a dyno tune or a new set of rims if I ever get extra money in the future, not for a while tho. anyways I just wanna know if not having a posi will hurt me in the 1/4 at all.

4.10s - posi = no traction

with the traction control on I seem to hook up good.... at least when my tire had tread on it.. with it off I can't say cause I have no tread to compare.. lol
