BLX3 computer owners

Those of you who have BLX3 as the catch code on the ECU, can you check the production date of your car?
In my search for another BLX3 ECU, the only cars i could find that had them were 8-96 dated cars (which mine is as well).
Just wondering how far along the line these compters were used..
