A couple of my climate control buttons are cracked on my 94 MK VIII, are these a dealer part or can you even get them anywhere? Thanks,JC.

You need to buy the whole unit, give Max @ 5 Star Ford a call, he's one of the sponsors here

you can buy one new for about $150 or one used at a wrecker for about $75.
If you want better buttons (that won't crack), go for a '95 model. If you want the more modern gen2 look, then go for the '96 year model. Those will work in your gen1 car. Anything older than '95-'96 will have the cheap buttons that crack, and anything newer than '95-'96 will not work correctly in a gen1 car.

It's easy to install -- just plug and play. There are two wire harnesses to plug in and one vacuum line group. Just pop off the trim around your shifter, then remove the trim around the HVAC with a 7mm nut driver. The HVAC is also held in with 4 7mm screws. You'll be in and out in 10 minutes.

And that's how that all works! good luck!

You can find them on eBay for around $100 if you search the Mark VIIIs

Ones from Conti's also work and they are cheaper. Same part. I got mine for $9.95..

Also search the salvage sites like car parts.com Scott9050 found his for around $50.

I just paid 75 for one. I was out in the Junk yard, and came across 2 new marks, the 94 had PERFECT wood grain trim, and the 96 had the climate control unit, and wood trim also.

I walked out of there with...

94' Wood trim set.
96' Wood trim set.
1 front plate holder
96 climate control unit
2 key remotes
and a set of lugnut covers for the 94.

all for 250 bucks.

If any of you want a PERFECT set of black leather gen1 seats. let me know, ill give you the number for the place.

Got one from a Continental for $50. Hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully it'll work.
