Seat Question

I am having troubles with my front seats. When I first got my 96 Mark VIII, if you put the seat forward for back seat access the seat would go forward and then return when the seat was put back. It stopped doing this first on the passenger seat and then on the drivers side. What controls the the seat going forward and backwards automatically? They still work manually and with the presets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the little black lever on the back of the seat. My seat wouldn't move either. The dealer thought it was a busted motor, and they were going to replace it under warranty, but I figured out it was the level on the back of the seat. It was in the wrong position...
