No A/C Please Help

Hi fellow Lincoln Owners my A/C stopped working all of sudden.I took the
car in to my local goodyear shop and they had it for 4hrs charged me $150
for finding the problem.The probelm they tell me is the eatc control module
and to replace it they want to charge me $1,000. I have a 97 continental
was just wondering if they has happened to anyone and where should I
start.The a/c heating control works fine blower , controls , lights , and
settings are all ok but the a/c compressor does not come on. The freon
level was full after a presure check so I am not sure what to do.
