Custom Exhaust?

is there anyway to make a custom exhaust rather than buying a cat-back from borla? are there any other cat-backs for the ls other than borla's?

this is what quik ls did. u can do a search for more info on this, as far a catbacks, flowmaster i think makes one
2 x 42443 (flowmaster super 40 muffler) $80.99 each
1 x MAG X-PIPE (magnaflow x-pipe) $89.95
2 x MAG TIPS (magnaflow dual double-rolled tips) $49.95 each
2 x CON PIPES (2.5" piping) $29.95 each
2 x EX-PIPES (2.5" piping) $14.95 each

labour $150.

You could go to any muffler shop and put a kit together, anybody should be able to bend pipes for you if you buy the mufflers and crossover if you wanted one.

would you get close to the same power gains as yuo would with a borla or a flowmaster?

You should. You can buy whatever mufflers you want, magnaflows, flowmasters, whatever. The tubing and what not is really no different if you buy it from a shop or from magnaflow.
