Alarming Issues?

I have a '97 Lincoln Continental that just loves to call me at anytime! The alarm goes off whenever! How can I trace the problem and how can I disable the alarm in the meantime. It's annoying and embarrassing.

Do you have "door ajar" warning on your dash? This can cause the alarm to go off. To fix, spray WD40 into the door latches.

The way I see it the car is just warning would be thieves that she is aware of there vile intentions...

Just kidding but really it is a common problem with our cars. I have a theory that if one were to have the door rehung back to specs, the sensors would work properly. I say this because I bet the door weight has caused the mounting position to change ever so slighty, not enought to set the door ajar signal off, but enough to set off the alarm when perhaps a truck goes by or a breeze hits her just right or at the darn cars fancy whim.

Anyways just a theory, but I have sprayed my doors with wd40 and to no avail.

If anyone tries to do this please post back the results after a while to see if it works.
