Where do I begin..... I am currently on vehicle 20... My first was a 1978 Mercury Bobcat.... the premier Pinto.... It was quite the ride... I used to love picking up tail in a Bobcat! Lets you know you are doing something right. My current vehicles are all 2002's, a Chevy Avalanche Z66 with only 16K, my Camaro with 35K and my LS with 34K.

I love the combination.... I have the perfect vehicle to match the mood and the outing...

My First car was a 1970 Fastback Mustang. Stock 302 2bbl, Auto, and wholes in the floor so you can see the road as you drive. and now after a long resotration that my dad and I did as a father son project. I have two pics at the link below. One of the pics was taken in the early 70's and the little guy next to the car is me. The other pic is what the car looks like today

1969 Ford Falcon coupe... all original with a 302-2V , C4, 8" with 3.08 limited slip (manual drum brakes and manual steering), dog dish hubcaps, all-black bench seat interior, and that lime green on the outside. I bought it in 1990 from the original owner, and by 1992, it had been totalled and crushed. Wish I had known what it was when I had it, 'cos I've not seen another like it. Lighter and faster than my high school buddy's '70 Mustang Grande coupe with the same powertrain.

Posted by: 2002WRXSTi

Hmmm, well my first car was a 197? Pinto that was shot. I didn't have a DL yet so I traded it for a Honda CB450 that had Harley Springer forks on it. Got my DL and picked up a 1971 Big Block 4spd Chevelle. Been through over 50 cars since then. My 06' Mark VIII is the latest I bought while my 405whp 02' WRX is down due to yet another shot clutch!

1969 Mustang Coupe, 302 2 bbl with 3 spd. Now 351 4 bbl with 4 speed. Then 93 Chevy K1500 Z71 350 with granny low 5 spd. Currently 2003 LS V8 Sport in addition to the other 3. Now I'm covered: one for racing, one for working, and one for traveling.

My first car was a 1972 Chevelle 2 door with the 307 and a 2 speed powerglide tranny. That thing would take forever to shift! I painted it red primer and drove it for probably 3 years like that...

A few years later I finally got my '70 Chevelle that I really wanted - restored that about 10 years ago and still have it. I guess you could call the LS my latest "winter" car but I plan on keeping it for a long time

1938 Buick Century with twin sidemounts and mirrors on top of the sidemounts. Paid $ 75.00 for it. Loaned it to a friend of mine who loaned it to someone else who did not have a DL. State Police stopped him and impounded the car. Trooper was driving it back to barracks when he left the road on a bend and flew for more than 60 feet before touching down. He paid me the $75.00 at the "suggestion" of his sergeant.

1983 cadillac eldorado triple white-got it in late '91 when i turned 16.it was a gorgeous car but didn't handle too well even with the touring suspension option. They ride kind of hard compared to RWD Cadillacs and lincoln town cars.I just drove an '81 eldo the other day for a friend who is looking to buy one for a weekend cruiser, and it feels like driving a truck compared to my new LS!It is amazing how long of a way vehicle dynamics and build quality have came in automobiles, and lets not forget about all of that chrome plated steel that is nice to look at,but is really just unnecessary weight in these days of rediculously high gas prices."they don't make 'em like they used to".LOL

Posted by: eldrewado

my first was a 1993 nissan pickup truck. it had a trunk lid and single cab i had it converted to ram air and was fixin to do alot more but the manual tranny had an issue and i diddnt know at the time that i could have fixed it myself,,,,,darn cuz i loved that truck it never complained to me.

A 1963 Mercury Monterey. It was a 4-door sedan, not a van like today's Monterey. It had a reverse-sloping rear window with a power opener. Ugly as sin, but had a _huge_ back seat ... important for a 17-year-old in those days.

Posted by: Frat-man-du

1965 Thunderbird. Bought in 1980 for $500. Still have it too (it is posted in my garage). She shares the Garage with its twin a 1965 T-Bird Convertible. My wifes 2000 Hi-po Stang Vert, my 98 LSC, 1994 E-150 and 1996 Haulmark car trailer all sit in the drive way. The 64 Healy is in Dad's garage.

1974 Cadillac Sedan Deville Brougham

NICE ride
too bad i ended up having to give it up after it i got all 4 wheels in the air.
Heavy car but didn't stop me from getting it 10 feet of the ground.
(Don't ask how but i did !!!! AHHH those teen years were a blast)

My first car was a 1986 Ford Mustang 4 cyl 2.3L
My second car was a 1988 Ford Mustang Cobra GT 5.0L, which I totalled
My third car was a 1992 Honda Civic 1.5L peppy fun to drive but ultimately no real guts
My fourth car was the ex-wife's 1990 Plymouth Sundance--a tank but butt ugly.
My fifth car is my 2000 LS-8. Happy with performance, unhappy with my repair bills of late, totalling over $2000.00 CDN in ignition coil replacement, spindle rod replacement, etc.
My next car will be a Porsche or a Mercedes (sorry guys--I was a die-hard Ford guy but the LS has really disappointed me with it's repair woes all happening after the warrantee expired).

Posted by: LincolnDriver

First car was a 1964-1/2 Mustang 289 V8
Blew the engine and dropped a 302 in it.
Same as this one, even the color.
(Except I had Cragar 5 spoke chrome rims on it)

Posted by: TheRebel

My first car was 69 Mustang coupe with a 302 and 3 spd. I bought when I was 14 for $1200. I never got it fixed up real nice but it got me through high school. Then a flood damaged 93 chevy Z71 350 with a granny low 5 spd. Odometer stopped working at 54,000 for about 6 years, works now (I bought it from my brother who bought from another guy that it quite on). Made it through college with this one (very dependable truck even though I like Fords better) Now I have a 03 Lincoln LS sport. Acutally I still have all three and probably will for a long time. The Mustang is still my love but it is only driven on Saturdays. The other two I take turns driving. Unforunatley though I have a lot of work to do to the 'stang. At 16 I did not relize the amount of special effects in The Dukes of Hazzard and needless to say real cars dent when hitting things and components break when you jump a car.

I miss 2 & 4 but life will go on. 9 has a date with a future project and will be the parts doner even though its a good truck and runs strong. 10 I will never sell!!! 11 was fun while I was in Germany for 2 years. 12 I got for my wife and lets just say you get what you pay for in a Korean built car. The warranty ran out and LOOK OUT! Had to go so we welcomed lucky #13 to the family and my wife is happier than she thought she would be.

OK before someone says it 13 years of driving 13 cars I wounder if this pace could be maintained??

My first ride was a '55 Chevy. No, not the cool one with the V8. Mine was a hand-me-down two-toned blue and white four-door, six-cylinder given to me by my Grandfather. This was in 1969. It got the best gas mileage of any car that I have ever owned. My second was a 1965 Mustang fastback 2+2 - red with white interior and automatic.

give away my age here, mine was a 1950 Henry J - standard shift and lime green. Named it The Green Hornet - loved the car except living in northwest PA and the hills, there was one hill that had a red light at the top, I either had to sit at the bottom and make a run when it turned green, or I would stall every time. Loaned car to uncle and he burned it up, no oil. Next a 1951 Buick Roadmaster until I got my 1960 Corvair, loved that car, took it from Pa. to CA for 3 years and then back to NJ. Since then have had a couple Buicks, some Fords, GMC truck, 2 Dodge Ram Trucks, and my Mark VIII and Oldsmobile Silohette. Joy

I was the first one to get my liscence so I got to drive all my buddies around.Next was a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that I ordered brand new from the dealer. Two years later I traded it in on a demo 2003 F-150. Then a used rental car Taurus and just recently my 06 LS. The truck and the LS are my toys while the Taurus is the cross country driver for work.

1968 Nova purchased for $250, had a 307 V-8 that was running on 6 cylinders and a two speed automatic. I bought a station wagon with a 400 and TH350 for $100, and swapped the engine and trans into the Nova. Used Holley carb, 4bbl manifold & headers $75, new cam and other misc parts $175. Total investment $600, ran mid-13s on street tires. Kept the car for about 10 years, sold to one of my buddies who rolled it the first week he had it.

1985 Toyota Celica GTS

I thought it was pretty sweet for my 1st car: red, sunroof, system and all that. It had to have 2 transmissions, only ran on 3 cylinders, heater never worked and tons of other problems but I loved it.

Ive had a 91 Honda Accord, 97 Camaro RS (beautiful car), 97 Mits Galant, 98 Pont Grand Prix GTP (supercharged, heads up display, this was an AWESOME car), 96 Trans Am WS6 (fast as hell=I blew the motor), 98 Mercury Mountaineer, 01 Ford F150, 02 Dodge Ram, 05 Nissan Maxima SE (still have), and an 06 LS (still have).

It goes w/o saying that the LS is my fav!

I was handed a 1984 Audi 5000 when I turned 16. I drove it for about 5 months before I got my first car that I got to kind of pick out, a 1989 Grand Prix, that I loved. I spent so much money/time on that thing. I do kind of wish I still had it just because it was my first.

I remember the first time I took out my Jimmy, it had just finished raining so naturally we went muddin' The thing was caked in mud except for where the windshield wiper could reach. I actually got a disciplinary warning for driving it to school covered in mud, because they said it was disrespectful and brought the school down (private school).

Very first car was a 1964 MGB, no pics on record for that old beastie, second car however I still have, 1966 Sunbeam Alpine. Been across the Atlantic 4 times since I've owned it (meaning 5 years in England), been on Brooklands Circuit, Silverstone Circuit, been back to Coventry England where it was made, E-prepared Autocross champ in Phoenix two years running, won it's class autocrossing at an International event and even though it's on jack stands currently, it still pretty much looks like this:

I really wish I still had the Fiero, and the Beretta really.. loved both of those cars, but it's hard to look back after the Lincoln. All of which we're given to me except for the Saturn which was $100, and of course the LS, which is why I have no money, but it's worth it right?

You guys must all be kids. My first wheels was a 1936 Plymouth two-door coupe (3 passenger front seat only), with a reliable straight six engine that could do about 60 (given enough time :-)
"Rah Rah rumble seats and running boards, them was the good old days" (Roger Miller).

How about this.. It had suicide doors 2 (opens from the front), a flathead 6 cylinder, no radio until I installed one, the radio was mounted on the firewall and cable controlled from the dash.. The heater was lousy because the center cooling tube was rusted about mid-point.. by the way gas was only about 12-15cents per gallon, and still seemed very very expensive..

now driving 63 cad convert,91 cad eldo coupe,95 cad concours 4 door , 84 Honda cb650, 2006 kawasaki ninja 250

I can't remember some of the cars I've owned.

Dude, That is cool! Both the car and that you still have it 32 years later.

My first was an inherited '73 Chevele wagon, I6 3 on the tree. I never even registered it. My dads freind needed it for parts so it was un-inherited.
The first that I bought was a '73 Grand Torino 2 door. I never registered that one either. My dad needed parts (windshield, starter, altenator) for his '73 Grand Torino 4 door.
First that I "legaly" drove on the the road, '73 Chevele Malibu Classic. Patch of ice and it was totaled 25 hours after I passed my drivers license exam.
Insurance money bought me a '76 Malibu Classic which in a toxic mixture of adolescence, alchohol, and speed, I totaled. They started calling me crash.
So I took the insurance money and bet it all. An '82 Mercury Capri RS 5.0 (4 spd of course) late spring of '84, my senior year. Second owner, original owner's son was turnig 16 and He didn't want his son to get it. I still own it. 25 year reunion is coming up in a couple of years and I can't wait to prove everybody wrong that bet I would kill myself in it.
PS. I haven't slowed down, just learned my self inflicted lessons!!!

I can say that Lincolns and Cadillacs have their differences and would be proud to drive either brand, but I sure do like the acceleration in the LS.

The funnest was a 1966 VW Beetle.
The lamest was a 1981 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon.
The shortest lived was a 1974 Chevy Vega.
The one I worked on the most was a 1970 VW Beetle (barring the 1988 Cadillac Brougham I am working on now).

All of them were a joy and a pain in the A$$ to work on.

Had NO power steering or brakes, rubber carpet, a black vinyl bench interior, whitewalls, dogdish hubcaps... A high school sleeper. I still have the VIN memorized.

My first car was a 1990 5spd 300zxTT. It was charcoal grey with gunmetal 18' rims, also had the supra spoiler on it. This car had 320 hp stock, the only mods i had was k&n intake and full borla exhaust. I don't recomend having this as a first car because i just piled on tickets after tickets. Just way too fast for me being 18 yrs old at the time. I got a really great deal on it so i couldn't pass it down. I had the car for about a year. I remember i had raced this kid in his integra just ate him up. But like two weeks later this little bastard had came up to my car and through a piece of sidewalk through my back windshield. He messed up my t-tops and the body. I just had to sell her, i was goin to get another one but i saw the Ls and just went with that. I'll get another one one day when i have the time and money to restore it.

Posted by: leejoffe

Damn, I hate to admit this....My first car was a 41 Plymouth in 1952. That was when second gear rubber was a big deal and a Model A coil hooked to a spark plug screwed into the end of the tail pipe would shoot a flame out 10 feet!

1980 Mercury Capri inline 6 twobarrel carb, 4spd overdrive manual transmission, gold in color, pop up sunroof, Carroll Shelby wheels (looked like bbs) and the system was to die for in 1983, (4) 6x9 Jensen Quadrax, Pyramid 750w 7-band graphic eq. Pioneer Supertuner with auto-reverse, Jensen triax 5.25" rounds in doors. It rocked with way too much distortion..but I loved it. I miss that car, and if I could find it again, I would buy it from the person on the spot. I loved that car.

Ahhhh...memories of my 1984 Ford Escort L. 4 speed manual, manual steering, manual brakes, manual seats, mirrors, windows, etc. 158,000 miles on it when I bought it. I believe that I had it for 3 months before the rear shock towers rusted and caved in, causing the rear wheels to fall into the wheel wells. Totally pathetic car, but I only paid $1 for it

Posted by: tach06

Ok I,m showing my age here. My first car was a 1957 Chevy Belair 2 door hardtop. Completely stock. 283, powerglide transmission. Purchase price $0. A lady in my neighborhood wanted it out of her garage. It didn't run. All it needed was a distributer rotor and cap. I sold it a year later for $325.00. I thought I made a killing at the time. That was 1974. Thing sure have changed since then.

I turned 16 in February of this year, and as my first car I got... a 2001 black Lincoln LS6... I just got a job, so now I am trying to make it look sweet. Since I'm 16, I'm more worried about looks rather than performance, so yeah.

My first car was a 1987 Ford Tempo. My dad bought the car new in 1986 when I was 7. In 1994 it became my sister's first car then after she blew up the motor in 1997 and my dad had a friend drop the 3.0L V6 from a 1994 tempo into it, it became my first car.
I kind of miss that little car.

It wasn't a bad car, but the LS is really an upgrade for me. Anyways it was a 98 Ford Contour, and it was actually pretty reliable and sturdy. I took it off a ledge in a back alley...about a 8" drop and the car didn't even get damaged.

Mine was a 1979 Ford Thunderbird. Ice cold air and automatic tranny. 302 motor with 2 barrel carb. If I knew better at the time, I should have converted to a 4 bbl. The transmission was solid as a rock. The motor had the lifter tick to it, but, it was a stong motor. I sold it to a bunch of mexicans for double what I bought it for. The ball joint went out on the passenger side. It took me and my friend over a month to replace it. It was riveted in and all we had was a cold chisel and a hammer. Today it would take us a couple of hours. Wow, how far we've come!

My 1st car was a 1959 olds delta 88 that I paid $50.00 for, It had a monster engine with a real small 2b carb....It looked so funny, This giant manifold with this tiny carb in the middle. That was back in 1968, Got drafted, sold her for $250.00, Thought I made a killing

1983 Ford Ranger baby!! biggest POS on the planet. Whenever it rained the truck would shut off and I was too poor to buy parts to fix it. That truck didnt have a straight piece on it. We used to run over road signs, trash cans, and those orange plastic things the construction crews use. And we shot the bed full of holes. I miss those days.

It had the factory 285hp 390 2-bbl V-8 with Cruiso-O-Matic "Select Shift" automatic transmission. It also had power steering, but no A/C or power brakes. It had about 109K miles when I bought it and the only thing I had to do was put in new carpet and redo the driver's seat. I later installed dual exhaust before showing my a$$ and wrecking it at 120+mph and walking away without a scratch. I REALLY miss that car.

Didn't take it off road much. But should have. I wasn't real fond of it at the time... it leaked and died at stop signs on rainy days. And the add on A/C was not good enough to keep you cool in the Texas summers. But... now i'd like to have one again.

1997 Ford Taurus GL...you know, the bulbous insect looking ones. Whatever, it was given to me by the grandparents so it was a cheap ride and it gave me $3k to trade in on my current LS! I still have fond memories of it though, it broke a lot but it was my car and I will always hold it dear to my heart (I just won't ever buy another Taurus! )

How about an Allstate, made by Henry J and sold by Sears. I gave $8.00 and a fishing rod for it. Later traded up to a Crosley station wagon.

1964 Mercury Comet - Stright six and 3-on-the-tree, gawd-awful-touquoise (teal to you younger kids) in most places. Open road concept (you could see the road when you moved the floor mat). Mods: GT stripes above the rocker panels to make her go faster and to hide the rust.
The car pictured was not mine but, it could have been it's twin

Not that old, the Henry J was a 52, I think the Crosley was a year older, but it had the propeller on the grille so I had to have it.

292 Y-Block Auto....hated the 2 speed auto so I transferred clutch assy. bellhousing, everything necessary and 3 speed from a wrecked Galaxie wagon then got a Spark-O-Matic floor shifter from JC Whitneys! Oh yeah and Thrush glasspacks w/duals. Was much cooler then.

I like this guy he is on the same page as me,try having 20+ cars at once and filling the gas tanks and restoring them to sell for a profit and not having the village come after you for all the cars around your house what fun

I couldn't blow that thing up no matter how hard I tried. Which is why I now use a Honda Accord for my winter car.

My Aunt gave me her "BEAT TO " Mach I. Grey exterior, and Grey interior(was white, but she had little kids). It was automatic with a 351 Cleveland. I sold her to get money for college (all $300 I got out of her back in 1982). The guy I sold her to, restored her and painted her Canary Yellow. To this day I still see the car around town.
