WTF? Trip computer problems...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

So I went and got a system installed in my LS last night and when I was going home I realized that my trip computer is messed up... I had over 1/4 tank of gas and it my "low fuel level" message came on and said I had only 32 miles to empty. So then I stopped and got gas and thought maybe it was right. I put $10 in it and it went up to like 52 miles to empty and a minute later the message came back on? Does anyone know what could have caused this and how to fix it?

can you be more specific as to what the install of the "system" was ?? Sounds like something is a miss...

I got 2 12" Alpine Type R Speakers, a rockford fosgate amp, an alpine component system, 2 alpine 5x7s, and a capaciter (or something like that - it's a Rockford fosgate tube that stores 12 volts of power to take away from draining the altenator). I had it all installed at Best Buy and noticed the problem on my way home. I figured they wouldn't know what caused it if they don't know much about LS's...

They probably disconnected the battery during the install, which messed up the memory on the trip computer. Press "Reset" after you fill it up next time and all should be well again.

Okay thanks. Do I just push reset when the miles to empty is on the screen or what?

Yes, or press the "Fuel" button (MPG should display), then press "Reset".
