I have a problem with my deville. The alarm keeps going off every 10 - 15 minutes on its own. The alarm is the stock alarm that came with the car. The deville is a 1997. Since it keeps going off, I was wondering if there's a way to disarm the alarm when I leave the car so it won't go off. Right now the alarm arms itself after the car sits there for 5 minutes with the engine off, regardless of whether or not the doors are locked. Is this normal?
Also the red light that turns on and blinks, it's also a button, is that something I can use to turn the alarm off?
Thanks!

I used to own a 1992 eldorado, if I opened the door and then locked door with the power lock button on door, and then shut the door, it would arm the alarm. but if I locked the doors with remote , it wouldn't set the alarm. read your manual. I dont know about a button. try locking door with the remote. let me know if it works. creeker.
