Transmission problems?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My '94 Mark has been acting funny for a few months.
EX: when i proceed to go up a hill, i'll put my foot into the accelerator, but the RPM goes down to 1000 and sits at idle. as i go up the hill, the speed slightly decreases. then as i press harder, maybe twice as hard, the RPM jumps to 3000 and the car launches forward. im sure this is the transmission acting up but is there something i can do because i certinly dont want to pay for a new one. plz help

Thanks

PS: My '94 has the LSC package, dunno if that makes a difference.

Sounds like your in OD then when you press the accelerator you downshift (more power) then go. Totaly normal.

ok, it just started so it didnt seem normal, just to be safe, is there any fluids or anything i can use to make it run better?

Mine seems to do the same thing, although I don't know about on a hill. It seems like it shifts to the next gear too early and the rpms fall to 1000, even when I'm trying to accelerate, and I have to give it gas to get it to downshift. I have just been turning the OD off when I drive lately, and it seems to shift better.
