everyones putting im systems now and asking all kinds of questions about how tos. so i might as well ask this one. i have an xtant amp that im installing this weekend ( MOTTS) and it has the option of having a bass knob, my old rockford 800's had these and ut was a plus. you can turn the bass when around cops or old people (respect your elders) or crank it up around others. anyway i bought my amp used and the punk kid just cut the cord for the knob.
QUESTION
1. where can i get a new knob that wont break the bank(80), does it have to be XTANT?
2. How do you hook it up?
3. Where do you have your placed? in my explorer it was kinda like taped by the dimmer switch. you cant just ghetto rig something on an ls.
4. i was thinking about taking one of those buttons above your head out (SOS...) and putting it there so its easy to get to. what do you think, and is there a way to do it so it can be returned to stock.
Thanks in advance

Do you have a pic of where it plugs in on the amp? Many brands use a telephone style connector, if it's like that you may be able to find one on ebay for cheap. If it's something specific to that brand of amp you might be screwed finding a cheap one.
As for the placement, I never wanted mine as a perm install. I usually just had it sitting between my seat and the center console in my truck, didn't want to leave any holes.

You can make your own if you figure out which wires are used. Bass knobs are usually just fancy looking varible resistors AKA potentiometer. You can probably get one from radioshaq and make your own.
