Stainless exhaust tips

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a 02 V8 LS sport....Has anyone added tips to the stock resinators by cutting the outlet just prior to the bend and either welding them on or clamping them??? If so, what did you use to cut the plastic on valence??? Thanks for your inputs.....It's my wife's LS and she wants to see the duals but likes the quiet sound from the stock system.....

Posted by: Quik LS

yes - many people have added nice tips to the stock exhaust. the plastic just trims with a dremel tool.

funny... i though that double tips on each side came standard on the 02's.. now i know that the previous owner did one hell of a good job putting them on.. they dont even point downward like others..

It only came on the LSE's in 02... that's the only year that they came factory that way. Damn shame too... they are sharp!

i dont have an lse.. i have a premium

Those 2002 LSE dual exhaust tips are $250 EACH at the dealer. Those are some expensive damn exhaust tips! I have a set of them that I got for a fraction of the price. I plan to install them this summer.

what is the best exhaust system to replace the stock system with for the cat back?

Posted by: ohioLS

Anyone have a pic of LSE rear end with its tips?? You guys have me all curious to see what they look like.

there are about 20 threads on this - which you should read though -

Borla, Magnaflow and McLaren all make cat-back kits

Many of us when to a local muffler shop and had them make one for much less $$$

Scott,

Here's a rear shot of the McLaren LS. It has the dual exhaust tips that are similar to what was available on the original LSE.

Here's a picture of the actual 2002 Lincoln LSE dual exhaust tips:

can I order these and have them put on mu 2002 LS? any idea on cost?

Ken,
I see another piece of interest, with that McLaren LS. Where could I score one of those rear license plate holders that is painted to match the car with a red emblem in it? I would LOVE to have one of those.

Best thing to do is find one on eBay and have it painted. I think new they are around $220 but only come in two colors: Black (UA) and Silver Frost (TS). Contact either person above to find the exact cost.

I sell the aftermarket red emblems on my website.

Hers our cat-back system for the LS.

We also have thes oval tips available seperately. Our XpansionX II mufflers for the LS. The dual outleets look amazing on these cars.

Heres our XpansionX II mufflers with the twin outlet razorblade tips pre welded.

Heres more on the X2 system and the way it sounds, yes it sounds almost identical to the Mark VIII's. Same components and pipe sizing.

Also ALL our tips are available seperately.
