Gen I vs Gen II Speakers

Does anybody know if Lincoln used the same JBLs in both gens. I find the sound better in the '94 than the '98. I'm talking about the original systems before mods.

Is it possible that your 94 has 4 speakers whereas the 98 has the 8 speaker Premium option?
