'89 LTC header question

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have been looking on Ebay for headers and I have found some that are for the 5.0L 302 small block. How interchangable are these parts?
I have been unable to locate anything in-store or online specifically for the Lincoln TC.
I am a DIY'er and would rather do the work myself than have a shop do it.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

5.0 mustang headers work on the markVII. big tub headers you will have to play with the stearing linkage. p.s you are taiking about the shorty headers right??

sneaked bye, thanks for responding. I am looking at all styles, but yes I would prefer the shorty's since they take up less space. Also, mine is a Town Car so I am not sure if the reply about the Mark VII really helps.

I think you will run into the problem of having emissions equipment in your way. I think its the airhoses from the smogpump that go into the back of the heads. If you could find a way to reroute or take them out you could do it. You will definetly have the problem of the 02 sensor. In your towncar I think they are at the end of the exhaust manifold. In mustangs and Mark VII's they are further down the exhaust pipe. So basically you will have to move them or remove them. Also, on my car (Mark VI), only one side bolted up to the stock exhaust, I had to modify the other side so I could take it to the exhaust shop. The one thing you don't have to worry about is the hedders bolting up to the heads. Anyways those are the problems you could run into.
