I'm buying a 93 Eldo touring coupe tomorrow (Saturday). It has 62,000 miles on it and the guy is asking $6,900 for it. It's a private seller that is selling it for his mother in law because she is elderly and can no longer drive. The car is in superb condition.

It has the Northstar V-8,and all the trimmings.

I'm gonna go for $6,500. I'm excited to buy the car, but was at another web page and was reading all these scarry reviews of Eldorados.

People ranting about fuel pumps, Trannys going out at 70,000 miles, water pumps ...you name it.

I can't imagine these cars are that problematic, but I guess there are a lot of factors that can effect the reliability of a car.

Should I be worried?

In not really too well versed in the arena of the Cadillac but every car will have its problems. The car is 12 years old. Even so, a 1 year car can be a lemon. If it is well kept, I wouldn't worry too much. Are you mechanically inclined to handle some of the issues you mentioned. If not, could get a little pricey to have a place like a stealership deal with it.

Anyway, good luck. Sounds like a nice car. I think you might even be able to pick it up for a few bucks less.
