I finally got the Mark to the track tonight and I did pretty good. But unfortunatly as the night went on the track conditions got worse and traction at the beginning was a issue all night. But here's my best run. 14.921 @ 96.75 mph

Your right there. You can get 14.60's out of it, your mph is there.

You have to manual shift at 6k (if you hav no chip) turn off tc and od, you should make it through the traps in second gear.

Posted by: brentalan

Wow, the MPH is really good. I ran a 14.5 but I was only running 95 mph!

is it stock? What year?

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

All 93-95's will run in the 14.60 - 14.80 range at 95-97 mph.

I still don't believe you I did what you guys said to fuel filter, lower tire pressure and every thing, I get better times if I let the car shift, when I do it a 6k the tranny hiccups and I lose two tens. The best I can get is 15.2 at 92. AND MINES HAS A HIGH STALL! Ahhhrg!

So if you got a 14.9 props man, I'm impressed good job

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

If its a hiccup sounds like you hit the rev limiter to me. You have to shift right at 6k. Believe me, I have done it with my own Marks as well as customers, many, many times.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

i do it at 5800, still dose it, when i do it at 5000 it wont.

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Thats strange.

I will have to see what the 94 that Mespock sold me will run in a few weeks when the track opens. It feels stronger than my 96 was, it spins the tires in first and a few times has thrown out the rear going into second.

i pulled a plug this morning and i don't think they have been changed in 10 years .. lol , the wires don't look any better
i'll probably be heading back out again sometime this week

It was nice meeting you also. Your Mark looked clean. BUt yeah when I did my tuneup this past weekend I could tell it was the first time that had been done since my plugs were black and all. But like I told you my tranny has been having some problems. I dunno if this is normal or not but I was manually shifting like you guys have been saying but my problem was my first gear. At the line I would hit it and the engine would rev up and I would go and then it would stop for a second then start going again. It does it all the time when I'm just driving around like the tranny is having a difficult time deciding to put it in 1st or 2nd *those are the only gears it does it in drive*like its not sure what gear to put it in. But even in shifting it yourself it still has a problem with 1st gear like it hesitates or something. But here's the complete slip from my run.

R/T: .583
60': 2.262
330: 6.404
1/8: 9.730
MPH: 74.42
990: 12.478
1/4: 14.921
MPH: 96.75

oh, i know what your problem is....you dont have a supercharger. Get one.

Posted by: K*A*B

well i fixed that , i am waiting on one fitting to finish up the nitrous install

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Kenny give me a call so we can get that car flying right. What NOS system are you using? We use the NOS dry kit for the 5.0.

Posted by: K*A*B

i'm using a NX shark nozzle and NOS cheater solinoids, just some stuff i had laying around , i know the intakes aren't the best thing to use with a wet system , but i've seen a couple guys on the boards using them
i'll be getting in touch , i'm going to need a converter and some other stuff

Its so close... You can lose 3 tenths on a bad launch...
Unless you got gears, the Mark don't launch too well...
Did you have TC on or OFF?

I'm gonna try to get to Raceway Park soon, before the hot days.
Looking forward to posting...

mr wilson If I win the lottery I will get a super charger and one for you too!

My launches consists of holding at 1000 (I have a 2800 stall) letting go and giving full throttle with TC on and OD off letting the tranny shift at 5800. If I do ANY different I get 2.4 60 15.4 ET or worse and I have tried launching every way I just spin (I have a stock rear end and gears). So I have joined SCA (Slow Car Anonymous) cause I have no money to go faster just make due with what I got. I don’t want to let some else race my car either , its like some one else Fuc*ing your wife. Just not right!

Posted by: Blackout

All I have done to my car is coil over conversion with the 2" drop and not power braking it at all. Everytime I did power brake it I got crappier times

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

i have allways found that not power breaking allways helps, cuz i have goten worse times also when i loaded the converter
