Found a Dual Cat

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: GMAN

I found this dual in dual out cat that I ordered last week. It should come in this week. I plan to use it when I do my dual exhaust convert. I've seen many different exhaust threads, read all of the debates of removing the third cat. Well what if the third cat was replaced. This would still make the car true dual and solve the emission problem that is evident to Mark owneres who live in states with more strengent emission rules like Texas. This the route that I am going. Pictures will be in next month.

Where did you find this... I live in Arizona right now where you can have headers with no pipes after... but i will be moving back to Cali and I'd like to have a "legal" car...

By the way... does a cat take away from the cars performance?

Posted by: Terrance

Yes, I'd like to know where to get them and how much too, also would be interested in an answer to Santo's performance question.

Our cat back system passes NJ emissions with flying colors with only the PRIMARY cats.

I have not had a LMS cat back system fail emissions Nationwide.

I've got a quick question... what would you recomend when it comes to cali smog laws? I want real dual exhaust... but also have no problems with emmisions? I want that deep throaty sound...

ONEBADM8,

Do you guys have to pass NOx emissions? That is where my car fails after removing the third cat (NOx scrubber). This is only the second year that they have been testing for NOx here.

I had to put a timing adjuster on the car and dial it down to 0 degrees to pass.

Mike

That dual cat can be bought at JC Whitney. Texas has strict emissions laws. Every Mark owner I've met have had problems passing their emissions once they went to true dual exhaust eliminating the third cat. If there is any Mark owner on this forum who has passed, I would like to know their secret. And not a sympathetic tester. This could very well be the only the only solution.

I have no idea. I highly doubt it since Walt just passed 2 weeks ago.

I FEEL CONFIDENT I'LL GET MORE COMMENTS ON HOW NICE THE MUFFLERS ARE THAN CONCERNS ABOUT PASSING EMISSIONS.... LOL!!!

Not enough to make it worth it. This car needs the slightly larger size pipe diameter.

the whole set up from prewarmer`cats back to new mufflers was about $560..... I hated the megaflow sound (too much drony nosie) came back they put turbos on it for no charge.

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

You mean Magnaflow? Megaflo is the name of our muffler series.
