How does the center light mounted on the trunk light up?

Hi
I own a 1995 Mark VIII and I realized today that the center light mounted to the trunk lid doesn't light up. This is my first Mark VIII and I am not sure how it turns on. Do I have to hit the brakes while the exterior lights are on? If it is broke how do I replace the bulb or is there a fuse just for this light? Any help in this matter is appreciated. All my other lights work great.

On a 95' the center light doesn't light up. Nothing is broken. You have to get a second generation Mark VIII to have the neon light.
