ABS Pump

Anyone know where I could find a good price on a new/used ABS pump? I am told they are over a grand new. -The shop ran the codes for my "check traction control" problem on my 98 LSC and said its the pump, not a wheel sensor. Can I even trust the codes that the problem is really the pump? Could the wheel sensor be throwing off the computer codes somehow causing it to say the pump is bad rather than the sensor? If it is just a wheel sensor that is bad, would the computer display a code for a sensor specifically or just say the pump is bad? -I'm trying to avoid paying for this pump, sensors are much cheaper to fix.

I need to get this fixed because I can't turn the traction control off. It is slowing down the engine significantly.

I believe you should be able to pull the fuse to the ABS pump and still be able to drive the car - just without the ABS feature on the brakes.
