Airbags won't lower

The rear end on my 96 sits way too high, so I adjusted the sensor the way it said on the tech page and it hasn't changed. To see if the sensor was bad, I adjusted it the other way and my compressor came on, so I figure the sensor still works. Could it be that the valves that release the air are bad? If so, can I manually let some of the air out? Thanks for any help guys.

i also have this question, but for my front bags. also, what is a spider valve and how do i install it?

You probably have a bad vent solenoid or clogged dryer. You can manually open the solenoids at the suspension ECU to vent, but it isn't exactly easy to access (it'snot exactly hard though either). This page has some diagrams and shows how to access the ECU:

Most likely you will need to replace the dryer and/or compressor. If you are patient enough, you can remove the dryer and rebuild it yourself. If the vent solenoid is bad, you will need a new compressor.

djKale is right. It sounds like a bad vent solenoid in the compressor. The compressor runs but will not let the air recycle out of the bags to drop the car. Most of the time this is due to moisture in the lines. The Spider Valve takes the place of the factory vent cycle on the compressor, and removes the moisture from the system before it reaches the compressor. If you would like to know more about, contact Eddie at American Air Suspensions, as the Spider Valve is his baby.
