I would like the opportunity to meet you all in person and I think teh Mustangs and Mustangs event would be a great opportunity for us all to get out and do something together for a day. Saturday April the 9th or Sunday April the 10th are the two opportunities for us to meet. The best thing is si that if we instantly hate each other we can disappear into the crowd and enjoy what looks like will be a great show for adults and children.

Here a link to the event http://www.imperialmustangs.org/2005_show/

If you are interested please post here or PM and I will find coordinate a time and place for us to chew the fat. I look forward to seeing you all there.

I would like to clarify that this is not an LvC sanctioned event but we can hang out and chat about how great LvC is especially the "L" part of LvC.

Posted by: eL eS

The show is offering a single day registration that includes a photo of your car with the P51 mustangs. Single day registration is 25 dollars and additional cars are 12 ea.

The only criteria is that the car be a FLM automobile.

I like it! Close enough to Orlando and Tampa. Sounds like a fun day. Which day are you thinking of? I'm fairly new to this site and would love to meet some of the others and show off my ride. Keep me informed and count me in! Tnanks.

im in!i went last year and its a really cool show, 98 % mustangs but we can change that. i will still be here in april right now i do not have a prefrence. i believe that its 25 for one day that includes a meal, reg, picture with the p-51 and 2 people per car. so its not bad if some one comes with you. here are some pics of last year. my car wasnt there but still had fun.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

when your a guy like me who like old aircraft and cars its really cool to see. some of the aircraft there are really rear like a zero from wwII.

excellent pictures. I plan on coming out on saturday. I have to call Pat rego back tonight for some more details but you hit a lot of that when you spoker about the registration process. Do you know of a good place we can meet up out there and what time do they start taking 1 day registrations?

Posted by: eL eS

i am a vintage aviation buff and love cars so this is really going to be a great time for me and my son.

That 67 Fairlane Convertable was parked couple of cars up from me last year. I couldn't stop looking at that car. I believe it won it's class. I won mine last year, but I'm not being judged this year. Just going to enjoy the show. Hope to see some LVC members.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

Well im not to familiar with the Lakeland area but i go to sun-n-fun. i would say some place in Orlando, im coming from Daytona so im not going passed lake land to meet up i can just meet you guys in a park somewhere in Lakeland. your going to have to call some one about the reg, i just rode in free last year.

Can we pose as a club and get a discount or some thing?

Eric

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

this is the most Unusual rulei have seen....

"ALL cars are ENCOURAGED to carry a FIRE EXTINGUISHER, YOU WILL lose ONE POINT from your judging sheet without one." WTF?

Posted by: eL eS

yeah that worried me a bit. I'd like to know what they set that rule. IIRC fantasy of flight is well before you get to lakeland.

Posted by: Fordman

All points car shows require you to carry a fire extinguisher. I always have one in the trunk of my car. When there judging they want to see it. They usually won't ask, you'll just lose a point. But this show is judged, last year anyway by the people who attend. But this year it's a National Show. That could be the reason why.

Posted by: eL eS

can it be loose in the car. If you have an antique or classic you are not likely to want to bust some holes and mount something that wasnt OEM installed.

Posted by: JoeyLincolnMK8

damn, wish my mark viii was still in orlando, i would be sooo there! its like about 30-40 mins away from my girlfriends, where i was staying last year. hopefully within the next few months ill be back in florida to stay.

Posted by: eL eS

We always have room for more lincoln owners. I hope by the time you get back we might have a good Central Fl group gathering at least once a quarter.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

Well I will be able to make it to this fire extinguisher or not, but I'm moving shortly after that up to Minnesota.

Eric

Posted by: eL eS

glad you will ba able to make it out. A move to the land of 10000 lakes WHOA! I would have to ease in to that like I ease in to the cold water nice and sloooooow!

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

i lived there for 19 years and here for 2. plus im moveing in the spring so it wont be a bad shock. just in time to for cruzin season up there in frost bite falls!

Yes itr can be loose. It does not have to be mounted. You just have to have one. It's no big deal. I keep one loose in my trunk and I show it in the trunk.

I could see a lot of folks taking a 1 point hit if it had to be mounted to the car.

Posted by: Fordman

Ready for this, I was originally told the reason for it, is because of the age of the cars. That a fire can break out at any time. LOL

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

well we are drving linconln not explorers

yeah whatever. hopefully the crwon vics that show up will have one. The classics are less likely than the modern vehicles.

OK...now I'm bummed. April 9th is the first points race at Orlando Speedworld. I Just delivered my new SVO hood to the body shop and my Mustang should be ready by then so I'm torn. I love showing off my Lincoln but I bought it so I could take my Mustang off the street and have a dedicated racer and make a run at the points. I'd hate to miss the first night. This sucks! What to do?!?

We can get a group rate if we all show at the same time, i think, this is what I have.

First car pays 25, that I will eat if it will help get more LvCers out there additional cars are 12 but I do not know if it has to be the same owner. I will be in contact with the chair person of the event before Saturday. When I have her on the phone i will push for a group rate and see if it can be arranged that we can stager in.

They might not bite so i will also try to find a place offsite to meet and later see if we can agree on a time to meet there.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

just pick a place i dont care as long as i can get there with out getting lost. ( i get lost finding the bathroom at night just so you know ) well if we cant do group can we pay on the spot?

I concur.

I will get the final word from Pat tomorrow night.

Posted by: eL eS

I have left a VM with Pat. I suspect she might not be able to respond till this afternoon or evening. I will get clarification if we can straggle in or if we all must arrive at the ame time in order to register and get discounted rate.

If you have any other issues you wish for me to address please post them I and I will do my best to get the information. I will also put together a map of the area so if you can PM your email I will send you a copy. Included will be the location where we will met outside the event if you all want to ride up together.

Otherwise I will see if I can identify a spot inside the event and we can agree on a time to meet there instead.

Well Pat did not call back over the weekend. I was busy as hell repairing my car any way but I will call her again on Thursday to get the details back for you all. I have not forgotten so please check back in soon.

nah. I nailed that biotch on sunday morning. I could have finished saturday night but needed some family time. Catching my son up on all the star wars movies. He is all perked up about the movie coming out in May and figured i can't let him watch that one with seeing the rest.

Car is running great now. Idles much better only think i need to find now is what is vibrating when I am a stop with the car in gear. It isn't a strong vibration but it does cycle a little on/off kind of. If I take it out of gear it stops vibrating. I can feel it in the brake/steering wheel and pretty much in the seat of my pants a little.

No problems otherwise.

ahhh com'on manhuffy's are the best but that would be a completely different show then. Man I see a lot of Marks around now. I have always like that car and hed it been on the show room floor the day I bought my LS I would have been driving a Mark. Lincoln sure knows how to kill a good product dont they.

Posted by: eL eS

He if you are going to come out to the event please PM. I know things can come up at the lst minute so i will not hunt you down and make you feel bad about it. I just want to get an idea who is coming and try to coordinate a meeting place and time. I will be out of town this weekend but I will follow up with everyone on Sunday Night.

Posted by: 97LSC_2NV

Looks like I spoke too soon. No car show and no drag racing at 'Orlando Spin World' either, (I like that name Eric). Recently we joined a rollercoaster club and our first chance to attend an event is on April 9th at Universal/IOA. Normally I would pass that up since I live here and can go anytime but I was told that the club will be ON one of the floats, tossing out beads to the crowd during the Mardi Gras parade! Can't pass up something like that especially with an outside chance that some young ladies may be over-anxious to aquire those cheap plastic bobbles and may try to persuade me to aim in their direction by 'flashing the high sign'! (Hey, If you gonna wish.....WISH BIG!!) So, maybe next Lincoln/Ford gathering for me. I will be there in spirit. I look forward to the pics! Have fun!

Steve

Posted by: eL eS

No worries Steve. As Tampa resident that gets to attend Gaspirilla every year I would be hard pressed to choose between but when in doubt shoot for the "High Sign".

Posted by: eL eS

Here is a link to FoF directions page. http://www.fantasyofflight.com/directions.htm

As an early to bed and early to rise kindo of guy I lean more towards getting there early but I am open to any morning time slot to meet off the exit there. If you come from the Orlando rather than taking a right to FoF there are some stores and such down on the left, right if you are coming from Tampa. It might be easier to meet there and drive over.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

pick a place and time I'm game, can we pay on the spot and is it 25 at the door or can we register in advanced to get it cheaper, i have veary little money so i need to know asap. and whats the count? how many marks? and LS's?

COULD NOT AGREE MORE DUDE!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: eL eS

So far not many. I am going to double down my efforts this evening to get more members out and I will call the chair person of the show back this evening as well. More to come.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

ok i need to know by tomarow night if we are going to do this, im not doing it alone and if i show up and there is no one there i will be pissed cuz it a 2 1/2 hour drive for me, so i need to know asap.

Shoot I am down dood! I am still waiting for Pat to call. I am guessing she is too busy for my busted up questions. At the most we are looking at 25 each to get in with the cars to have the photos taken. I think that allows you and one guest in.

I do not know what the walk in tickets cost though. My son are there though count on that. I want my close up of the mustangs and my ride.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

so is there any one else who is going?to be honest with yall i cant afford the gas and the food and entry fee and and prob more stuffthat i cant think about.

just fordman and possibly chris_n_fl . I won't hold it against ya if you can't. With gas all jacked up I can't say that I would drive more than 15 minutes to any where.

Posted by: 97LSC_2NV

Alright... I'm still trying to put this together. What time are y'all going to meet up on Saturday and where? I'm thinking we could come by there early and go to Universal later. Had to give up on Speedworld cause the Mustang isnt done yet. So now just 2 things on my slate so I'm gonna try to come. Please let me know what the plans are when you have them. Thanks and congrats to Noah on the Presidency!

Steve

Posted by: Fordman

As far as prices go. i called the President of Imperial Mustangs, If you want to do 1-day only, it's $25.00 + $12.00 for every other person you that wants to come in with you. Or $50.00 for all 3-days, and a free pass for 1 extra guest. I hope to see some you all out there. It's really a fun day.

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

as soon as some one can get a time and place i will make plans

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

Posted by: eL eS

We went on Sunday. I had to go out of town and Saturday was a hot mess. My wife is still in college so she had to catch up on the assignement.

Sorry I missed you. I ended up taking my youngest boy. He had a blast, well mabey we can do something at the end of the month. I have to see when my in-laws are leaving to go back to CT. They usually leave at the end of April.

Posted by: eL eS

I hate it when they spring these trips at the last minute. I love my job and my work but these last minute trips are disruptive.

If we can't get a central/west and south Fl group gathering we can start this thing in Tampa and hopefully that will have a synergistic affect.
