What would be the advantage in faking Saddam's capture?

It seems to me that talking about how you had to go into a house and get Saddam after he shot at you would have made a better story to Americans. It would be like watching COPS. The only advantage of the hole story would be to belittle him... Nevermind, I've already lost intrest.
