Will an 8.8 posi center from a mustang axle fit in my mark?

I have a complete 8.8 posi axle from a mustang sitting in my garage - will the center fit into the IRS of my mark?

also how many spline is the mark rear? 31 or 28?

to clarify, it's from a fox mustang.

yup, its a 28 spline cobras are 31 spline

ANY 8.8 posi unit will work fine as long as its for 28 spline.

that is great news, I have been sitting on a rebuil 8.8 posi for like, a year. Finally gonna put it to good use. I am assuming then that Fox mustangs were 28 spline.

waitt... lemme jus make completely sure im reading this right before i go to town.... If i get one of my friends fox body posi rears with 3:73's or 4:10's..... and its 28 spline, the rear will fit in my mark viii????? and will work wit my independent rear suspension
