JAMLER's 1998 MARK VIII Acheives BAD ASS Status...

Ok, I'm a little late in this post, but since we have another F'n snow day here in NJ, I'm not driving my car, which has become an exhilarating experience. I must write about the work done by LMS this past Wednesday!!!! They're AMAZING!

Pulled up at the new shop. Geno's most recent toy, A 477ci Plymouth RoadRunner was sitting in the lot...and up on the lift is a '72 Vette... That was just the beginning, as in the rear lot was a plethora of American Muscle...

In no time my MK8 was up on the center lift and the old exhaust was being hacked off. Geno and Phil pulled out about 20 Ft of brand new 2.5" stainless pipe and rolled over the pipe bender. Geno took out of the box the true XX pipe that he just got... A few eyeball measurements and the XX was cut to perfect performance legnth and welded.

Phil was "Da Man" when it came to the pipe bends... Unfortunately the Mark VIII doesn't have the easiest path to follow for the exhaust. Phil was amazing, eyeballing measurements and making slight adjustments. It is a tight fit that ain't easy making that fat pipe fit in the same space as the stock system. But again, Phil's bends were perfect, to the degree that both pipe bends are at exactly the same point extending all the way back to the mufflers. Fit was so perfect, when we put the factory cross bar back on, the space between the dip for the pipes was = !!!!!

The new Expansion II Mufflers are like a piece of gorgeous "BLING"! Although Geno's Manufacturer told him about the improvements, the anxious feeling we had to actually hear them had us buzzing all day! We took the opportunity to do an oil change since it was up on the lift, so we drained the oil and as the exhaust was coming together, we kept saying, "Can't wait to drop her down so we can hear this badass exhaust"... Geno said several times "DO NOT FORGET, THE CAR HAS NO OIL".

Took a little lunch break as Phil was performing some virtuosic welds.
Geno cranked up the Road Runner... 700 HP... Car sounded monsterous.
OK JC lets go for a ride... Grabbed the video camera and held on! Head snapping G's off of that car. Spinning slicks through local Hammonton area was just insane!! That car is SICK! AND it has NOS on it, which wasn't even on during this ride. Truly the most powerful car I've EVER been in!

To wrap it up... The exhaust was on... The Expansion II's looked HOTT!!!
SEE PICTURES in LMS THREAD BELOW:

http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/sho...5859#post45859

The rest of the Mods literally took Geno 30 minutes to do, which included:
- Install "shrouded" Autolite 764's - (With e-taping each coil boot as well)
- Install new Computer with LMS Performance Chip
- Install new LMS MAF. (That old box is such a pain in the ass)
- New Mobil-1 w/ Lucas treatment / Also added Lucas Trany syrup

Cranked her up and OMG!!!!! A-F'n-Mazing SOUND... Let her warm up and
Geno then took it for a test ride... The exhaust sounded so hot. He pulls out the garage and nailed it... Sounded so deep and exotic! We video taped him pulling out. FUNNY... Across the street was Hammonton Local Patrolman... He just stared at me as I was video taping Geno slammin the throttle!!!! LOL
Actually had a cool conversation with him...

My day ended with a cruise in the TERMINVIIIOR... I never thought a MarkVIII could go fast enough to scare me!!! We hit and sustained 150 on the AC expressway and to be honest, I was a pussy. I was sayin, YO MAN, Easy... Back Off... I looked over at Geno, and he was just smiling like the Sick SOB he is, saying Shut the F' up..... Then I got to dive my MK8 home which was sweet... Performance was amazing... I can honestly say the car has improved 10 fold... If your driving a MarkVIII and want to have it run the way it was meant to, Visit the LMS dudes and make it happen!!!! Its like driving a new car!

So would the Tasca be the poster child for Team LMS or are you going to put all the weight on Walt's back? LOL. I would think that the Terminator was/is/could continue to be a good advertising vehicle (pardon the pun) for LMS.

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Its so played out (to me) I can let her go I think, for the RIGHT car.

My point being, what car is going carry the LMS flag. You just better not show up around here with a riced-out F-Body car, that's all I'm saying.

RE: The Color... It was the smallest run in '98 and wasn't available on LSC models until late - My "In Service" date on my Vin is February '98. The only color they consider more rare was that Spring Feature car in Gold color..?

I SOUGHT OUT THIS COLOR... Fortunately found one in West Babylon, NY. in March of 2000 coming off a 2yr lease. Had 23k on it!

If you notice the phone antenna. This has every available option, including the cargo net in the trunk. The only thing it doesn't have is the block heater.
Dealer gave me the orginal window sticker... $42,438?? Who would pay this?

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Jim its UNshrouded spark plugs. LOL!

Posted by: driller

I was wondering what a "shrouded" plug looked like. Thoght maybe that was a top secret LMS lab experiment.

Maybe you should tell the UNinformed what an UNshrouded plug is.

An unshrouded plug is without the shroud... Geez??
I'm not sure, but I think it is LMS Proprietary... LOL

Jamler, your car looks awesome! I'm jealous, I have the OLD Xspansion II mufflers. I purchased Geno's last set over three years ago, 'cuz i didn't think he was ever gonna' offer them again. I just put them on when I redid my whole exhaust last summer. It's cool, I am still very happy with them. I haven't had a chance to stop by Geno's shop.... Maybe some time this summer when I finish my car, again. Good luck with your G2, keep her lookin' good!

-Joe Michael

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Joe, did you mount them slanted? Pics please.

Posted by: ExoticLSC

Of course, Geno! ....Just as instructed! Also, the mufflers are slightly raked up, toward the rear of the car. It gives them a very muscular look. The guy who performed the work did a pretty kick-ass job, too. He welded the xx to the header down pipes, to form a header-to-tailpipe double-x pipe. He then used stainless band clamps to connect that to the tailpipes, which were welded to the mufflers. He also welded a couple 1.5" wide pieces of stainless bar stock to keep the tailpipes together, where they run parallel to eachother. The only pics I think I had were in my phone camera and someone stole it when I was at work a couple weeks ago. BASTARDS! I do have one diposable camera that might have some pics of the mufflers on the car. I'll see if I can find it and have them developed. Otherwise I'll have to wait another couple months untill I get her painted again. All of the exterior panels that I modified are done, I just have to finish the rest of the interior panels, and she'll be ready for paint. Damn, Geno.......... At $125 ea. I think I might have to order another pair just to have on display!

Ther actually $119.00 each for a limited time.

Actually... They didn't make a Grey in 94. Perhaps yours is a 95.
That was Charcoal Grey (Code - TR)

This color was only done in '98 (Code - TB) Midnight Metallic Grey

No, I have a 94. I am not usually mistaken about what year my cars are And it's grey. Charcoal Grey sounds right, but it's very similar to yours when it's clean and indoors

Posted by: MonsterMark

True, but Jamlers is a different paint all together. From what Geno tells me, (I haven't seen it in person), it is outrageous on a Mark.

Posted by: 67Continental

hehe, i wasn't trying to put down his mark, i just like the grey colour, hence the fact that my car is grey as well

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

His grey has almost a bluish hue to it in certain lighting.

Hey... 67 Conti... Didn't mean my comment as an insult.

I was just basing my response on what is listed for the color runs here:
http://mark8.org/lod/colors.htm

This could be wrong... But YOU... Have a Nice Ride Dude!
