I wouldn't know. Cheap brake controllers are not my specialty. I like my trailers to actually be stopped by the brake controller when I step on the brakes. (yeah, yeah, I know, the trailer brakes stop the trailer, you know what I mean).
I recommend the Prodigy if you're on a budget: If you want absolute peace of mind, go with the Voyager. The prodigy will set you back about a buck twenty plus a pitgtail to plug into your truck. |

It's not a matter of how often you will use it, it's a matter of it WORKING when you need it most.
Any camper/trailer store should have brake controllers. On the budget you're looking at, ask for the "Our Father who art in heaven..." model. They're pretty cheaply priced. IT's called that because every time you'll step on the brakes with 3 tons pushing you from the rear, those will be your thoughts. ![]() |
