Well,

I've been saying I'm gonna do it for a long time, but I've commited myself now. I forgot how much of a pain it is to R&R the cam covers. I'm working on the harness soldering now.

Awwww.... you took the easy route. I swapped the entire engine to get COP valve covers! lol

Let me know if you have any questions. But I bet ya got it figured out, not too hard to do.

PMing you now................

Those are some awesome looking coil covers!

Posted by: 94m5

Thanks Kid!

These will be replaced soon, I just did'nt want to spend any more money than I had to. Assymbley Soldering is done, now all I need to do is go outside and connect everything to the car. I went with a bit different method of connection unity. Take a look at the diagrams and let me know what you think.

If I have a problem with voltage, I can always pull it apart and add a seperate voltage input. This was a much easier method.

That looks the same as I did pretty much. Trigger in on neg, loop positive to neg on the other side then out to shared positive so they are in series. Should work just fine!

Good job man!

I had cops on my Gen 1 since 93.

I should scan and print the SuperMark's wiring someday. It's awesome with the 2 injectors per cylinder OBD I and OBD II combo, 2 functioning tb's and maf's, 3 ecm's....etc.

They spent some time on it.

Posted by: Stack

You should def share that info Geno!

Posted by: kustomizingkid

The SuperMark is probably the only one that can trunp Lonnies obd 1 to 2 Mark...

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Man it can trump anything as far as tech goes trust me. The thing is a total freak.

Posted by: slowmkviii

what are all the parts needed to convert from wires to cop
I am asking for someone else who put a 98 mark motor in his mustang

Posted by: unity

Valve covers that accept COP and COP covers to go onto the valve covers. Coils themselves with boots. Preferably COP harnesses with connectors. Thats pretty much it. The rest is wiring really.

Posted by: topher5150

Is there any real benefit to converting, or is it for looks?

He meant other Mark VIII's, not other cars.

He might even concede losing this bet publicly, as I PM'd him an example of a car that would trump the SuperMark in technology.

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

LMAO I would have lost $$$ big, that Benz is beyond unreal.

Props for the old school 93 freak technology , but state of the art tech today does not need all that stuff from back in the day to get the same or better results. 60lb injectors, ACCUFAB TB, blow through pmas, and some good OBD2 tuning will get the job done.

Here is my new school stuff for a centrifugal setup on my Mark. lol There is stuff coming out every day that makes some of my parts dated, and I just got this thing done early this year.

Bring that freak to SSHS9 in ATL this November! Love to line up against it.

Alright Frog... lemme see this benz...

It had Geno gasping so its gotta be good!

Posted by: AbrahamLincoln

very nice, love the paint on there - whats the benefit of doing COP? Not getting enough spark?

The hell are you talking about?

I just mentioned a benz as an example to what the Super Mark (nice as it is), wouldn't be able to trump, tech wise.

That is all.

No REAL advantage performance wise.

I did however, notice a better feeling idle, and it SEEMS to have a smoother revv-up. Not to mention the engine LOOKS 10X better.
