that place sounds good to me unless someone is opposed to it

Posted by: Boomhower

I might have been mistaken. My wife seems to think you are talking about Peerless steak house. They have a big bull out front. It's off of Ceder Bluff behind Famous Daves BBQ. Right beside Parkside Tavern. That's the only one she knows of that has a bull out front

Bull Fish Grille is in Pigeon Forge.

There is also a Bull Feathers Sports Cafe, which is close to Lovell Rd, on Kingston Pike. But they don't they have a Bull out front.

Peerless is fine with us. My wife has been wanting to eat there for a while now. Or, if your wanting steak, we could eat at Connor's in Turkey Creek. We've ate there before and they're pretty good. They're owned by the same people that run the Chop House.

What's everyone's thoughts? I know some of you will be traveling a good piece and may not be familier with the area, so would you guys just perfer us to pick out a place and go with it?

Posted by: gt95coupe

Oh ok peerless or conners is good with us

Posted by: postalUT

Somewhere with a big parking lot and a low price. Remember I'm paying for two meals and gas on minimum wage

Posted by: Boomhower

O you college guys. Always worring about the money. Would you like my wife and I to bring you 2 happy meals to dinner on our very slightly above minimum wage salary's?.....Eric, I'm only kidding ...

Go to www.Knoxmenus.com and type in Connors into the search bar. You'll find their menu and prices.

Then type in The Peerless, and you can view their menu with prices.

Go here for The Peerless website....http://www.thepeerlessinc.com/

Go here for Connors website. They have picutres posted of some of their meals....http://www.thechophouse.com/connors_menu.html

Peerless seems to be a little higher in price, but only by a small portion. Depending on what you get, 2 can eat very comfortable for $40.

Posted by: postalUT

HAHA two can eat just as comfortably at taco bell for $8

But i guess since this is a special occasion and I don't want to be labeled as cheap, I guess i can charge it.

It all up to yall i dont really have a preference.

No no....I'm not calling anybody cheap....If it were up to me, my wife and I would pack a little picnic basket with ham and cheese sandwiches with some crackers and WATER to drink, and wait outside the restaurant on you guys. But I never been able to convince her to do that. Imagine that.

Posted by: gt95coupe

You guys name a place it doesnt matter to us. I just thought those two places looked interesting.

Posted by: 9enisP

I'm down for whatever you guys decide. I love food. I'll be showing up in the black ls with the f'd up bumper. I just rear ended a Volvo here in Nashville. All my fault, but her car seemed fine so she just took my name and number in case. Oh well...

Posted by: Boomhower

Ay...Stuff happens, right?...As long as it still drives.

That's easy for you to say with your little non scratched up LS! jk. It just really sucks because I just got back and I was so ready to finally drive the damn thing. I drove to TN from MO for my RnR and I literally just washed it a couple hours before the wreck.

Posted by: postalUT

UPDATE: I got turned down twice today by two different girls who I asked to come with me, so it'll just be me now.

How bad was the wreck?

Not bad. Definitely got to get my bumper repainted and a new chrome bumper cover. Any idea what part number that is ken?

Do you have the sport or non-sport bumper cover? A non-sport will have the chrome strip on the bumper. I don't know what that part number is but I'll can find out.

I know it suxs....The first truck I had was an 89 S-10. Gave $1200 for it, but I felt like you had ripped my guts out of my butthole when I wrecked it. I'd feel even worse if something happened to the LS. But a few sratches ain't that bad. You'll have her fixed up in no time and we'll all still enjoy the ride next weekend.

Well they didn't deserve to ride in your LS anyways.

NO truer words have ever been spoken!

Posted by: Boomhower

Alright guys. We keep getting closer to the date with no place to eat, so I am going to say lets eat at The Peerless steak house @ 12:00 pm on Feb. 3rd. All in favor say "I". Any oppose?

Posted by: postalUT

I'm actually going to vote for Conner's Steak House. They have a pretty decently priced sirloin that sounds really good (I have no grill to cook steak on in the dorms, so steak is a real treat for me). Their selection also seems a bit less fancy pants

That's fine as well. Actually works out better cause we have a gift card for conners. We just haven't ate at Peerless and thought it'd be a good time to try it out. So all in favor of Conner's, say I.

Who's getting excited?

Posted by: postalUT

alright guys i'm sorry to do this so late but is there any way we can push up lunch to 10 or 11? One of my date prospects called me back and said she could go if she made it back to knox by 4.

If not it's cool, girls make things complicated anyway!

That would be really tough for me to make that noon is about the earliest I could make it

Posted by: Boomhower

I'm free all day.

Posted by: postalUT

Hey it's cool, Danny. I'll just take a rain check from her.

Posted by: gt95coupe

Im really sorry man

Posted by: gt95coupe

I emailed killboy.com and they said they will not be out there this weekend most likely. Ken you gonna make it out?

Posted by: Boomhower

So who all's bringing their camera this time? .....Our's has been fuzzing out the past couple of times we've used it. I plan on bringing it, but I don't want to count on it being the only one.

Posted by: 9enisP

I planned on bringing mine but I left it in Missouri when I left. I'll try and bring my wife's but it's not the greatest either. Oh well, better than nothing.

Posted by: postalUT

I'll be bringing my roomate's 7.1 Megapixel bad ass

Before we get too ahead of ourselves, they're forecasting ice and snow on friday, so are we still gonna meet if this is the case? Obviously if theres any ice or snow we're not running the dragon (at least I won't)

Posted by: Boomhower

Yeah, I was gonna comment on that sometime today. I won't be running the dragon with snow and ice either, but let's face it, I don't think we'll have anything to worry about but maybe some rain. I say if we do get snow'd out, I'd still like to meet out to eat.

Posted by: postalUT

Yes we should definitely still meet. Maybe we can drive out somewhere and take some pictures.

Posted by: 9enisP

I'm down for whatever. I'm definitely coming to K'ville for my friend's birthday anyway, so whether it snows or not, I'll be there. How dangerous is the dragon in the rain?

Posted by: gt95coupe

Yea I dont really want to fall off the dragon tail either

Posted by: gt95coupe

so we going or what?

Was this an archive photo?....I wouldn't think there would be any snow over there. I know it close to NC, but Maryville didn't get anything the other night...

Posted by: gt95coupe

it was on killboys homepage about half way down so I assumed that it was current. I also noticed that it was uploaded today.?

Posted by: 9enisP

I just got to Knoxville. I'm staying in the dorms at UT with a friend. Can someone pm me their number so I can have a contact if I need directions to the restaurant?

Posted by: 9enisP

I just got in Knoxville and I'll be out all night celebrating my friends B-Day. Can someone PM me their cell number so I have a contact in case I need directions or something. See you guys soon.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. I didn't realize my last post went to a new page.

I looked at the picture from my cell phone the first time. And I just looked at it again on my computer. The picture was so small on my cell that I couldn't see that picture was taken on the Cherohala Skyway. That's a little ways away from the dragon. A group of guys from work get together and take a bike ride up there about once a year. They say it is a good ride. Maybe we should visit there sometime in the future. Just not tomorrow . I think we'll be good to go on the dragon. Either way, we'll see you guys at Conner's @ noon. I'll be the one driving the black Lincoln LS......O wait, you guys know that already . We can discuss over lunch wheather we want to go up or not. Eithey way, I say it's worth a drive up to have a look see for ourselves. See you guys tomorrow.

Posted by: gt95coupe

sounds good to me c you guys @ noon

Posted by: postalUT

If it looks ANYTHING like that, I won't be taking my baby out unless it's a nice slow leisure ride (not the balls to the wall)

Either way I'll see y'all at noon

Posted by: postalUT

UPDATE: Accuweather is predicting like 75% chance of precipitation within the next 48 hours around Robinsville, NC

Posted by: 9enisP

I'm drunk as hell. so I'll see u guys AT CONNERS'. PIECE

Posted by: Boomhower

Time to share. Here are some pics we took after lunch.

Posted by: Boomhower

Here are some pics my wife snapped of Danny's car on the dragon.

Posted by: Boomhower

I thought these were the best pics on the dragon.

Posted by: Boomhower

Eric, what happened to you man? I'm really sorry we lost you in K-ville. We waited an additional 20 to 30 min. once we got into Maryville. I knew I should have gotten you cell # before we left Connor's.

I also have two video's on the dragon as well. One is kinda intense driving, and the other is a little more laid back. The sound and video quality isn't the greatest (digital camera), but it's still pretty cool. I haven't decided whether or not to post them on line for the world to see, but I'd definetly email to any of you that would like to see them. Just PM me you email address if your interested.

Posted by: gt95coupe

Those pics turned out real good. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE to come out! then we could have a dozen or so lincolns and cadillacs playing chase at the dragon!!

Posted by: 9enisP

My email address is mburlison@gmail.com. Send me all your pics and vids. Sorry I couldn't go out there with you guys but it was great meeting you at Connors.

Posted by: postalUT

I'll tell you what happened...

Lyla got a nice little check engine light on Lovell road. Yeah.

So I babied it back home to the dorms and I'm going to attempt to drive it to work and see if it's gone away. Nothing happened, the light just came on.

I didn't have either of you guys cell phone numbers so I couldn't call and tell you what was going on. I'm really sorry guys.

My pictures came out EXCELLENT and they'll be posted very soon.

Posted by: Boomhower

That's crappy man. Hope everything turns out OK for ya.

I've been working on the video's all day guys. I'm emailing them from a comcast email account, but they always get kicked back stating they are too big to send. I could send them from work since there is no limit there, but I don't think any of you guys would be able to recieve them. I used to have a yahoo account, and you were doing good if you recieved a few pictures at a time.

You should use WinRar then upload them to rapidshare or megaupload.com. Then just post the links and we'll download them.

Hell, put them on youtube!

I had just logged into youtube when I got the email from your post. Hope to have them up soon.

Posted by: gt95coupe

The videos turned out well. I cant seem to get the option to run the second video in flash player

Posted by: 9enisP

Yeah. No option on the second video here either. Damn that looks like fun. I wish i could've gone.

That's awesome. I mean it sucks you couldn't run the tail, but at least you don't have any major problems.

Even if it was somethin major, My factory warranty is good til October and my extended warranty is good til after I graduate college. Tho it is nice that I dind't have anything major

Like I said before....Stuff happens, right?.....This is my truck with a cracked headlight, busted turn light, deeply scratched front bumper, and a ruffed up lower skirting.....Happened today about 2 min. after I got in it to leave work.

Posted by: gt95coupe

ouch sorry what did you hit that was that high?

Posted by: Boomhower

Back right corner of a Toyota Camery....Top of the bumper, right side of the trunk lid, and the tail light....I should have gotten pics of her car while we were waiting for the police report, but I didn't think about it until we had left. I can however get some pics tomorrow if she comes to WORK. That's right, I work in the same building as this lady. She just started 3 months ago, and only had the car for 3 weeks. I felt so bad. I don't really care that much about the damage to my truck, cause that's what I pay insurance for, but still yet, come on. Needless to say it had been a stressful day at work, and this didn't help my evening out either. We were pulling out onto a road that has a really bad blind curve. She was turning left into traffic (in which direction the blind curve was located to her right). It's one of those curves that once you commit to pull out, you had better go and not think twice about it. I saw her commit, then glanced over my sholder to see if there was anything coming in the right lane, and BLAMO. She had stopped in the middle of the right lane and the road we were pulling out of. I never saw it coming. O well, tomorrows a new day, so I guess I'll go sleep this one off.

Posted by: postalUT

I'm sorry man. It doesn't look to bad. Were there any tickets handed out?

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

Guess I need to read the forum's more often, I'm in Ktown also. The last time I was on The Dragon we came around a curve and there was an 18 wheeler hung up on one of the curves. He finally got it around it but tore the crap out of the trailer. Said that his dispatcher told him it was a "short cut"..
We used to go through there when we went to the car show in Helen Ga. They moved it a couple years ago and we haven't been back.

Guys, Capt. Zorro is the man that makes the stainless steel intake tubes for LS Koncepts. Talk about a street rod guy! Sheesh! This guy has more unfinished street rods than I have ever met! Now they are some sweet rods though!

Wayne, good see you here! Stick around a while!

Posted by: chucksmarkv11

Cleveland here 88 lsc driving me crazy right now but still love it

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

Yea, I'll have a little more time to play around now. Yesterday was my last day at work. Maybe I can finally get that Model T chopped, if I don't have to spend alot of time running back and forth to the farm. I'm afraid I may have swapped a good job for a bad one.

Speaking of street rods do you have any for sale?

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

Not right now, but a good friend of mine has a running '34 Ford 2dr. Sedan in primer with a BBC that he's going to sell. He also has a '40 Ford Coupe body that he's putting floorboards in right now. He's been building Street Rods for close to 50yrs. so he know's what he's doing. If you're interested in them send me a PM. I'll check with him and see what he's asking for them. He had a guy coming from Kingsport that bought his '32 Coupe last year that was looking at the '34 this weekend, don't know if he took it or not tho.
I've got a bunch of pics, but will have to figure out how to post them. My computer Guru is out running amock right now. Hopefully he'll be home before the crack of dawn..

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

see if this works

Posted by: gt95coupe

Please excuse my stupidity but what year is that

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

It's a 1948 English Ford Anglia. They had an 8hp. engine when they were imported. 0-60 times were in minutes...
I built it about 15yrs. ago, it's got a SBC, turbo 350 & narrowed 9" rear end.
Here's a pic of the LS and my Model A with BBF 428

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

Just one at a time I guess, see if the LS pic comes through

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

Here's one of the MKVIII.

Posted by: gt95coupe

The mark8 looks clean is it all stock?

Posted by: Capt. Zorro

It came from down in your area, was a two owner car from Cleveland. It's stock except for a set of turbo muffler's and large dia. pipes. It get's about 20.5 MPG going back and forth to the farm.

Posted by: Boomhower

Sorry for not getting back with your question sooner. No there wasn't any tickets handed out.

Here's a pic of the damage to her car.

Posted by: gt95coupe

Ouch has she gotten a estimate yet?

Posted by: Boomhower

I've not had a chance to ask.

I just found out yesterday that my date of separation from active duty has changed. I won't be leaving Missouri until around May 1st. I can make a special trip down on a weekend if you guys plan something though. Most of May will be out for me. My wife and I are finally having a real wedding and honeymoon. I'll keep an eye out here and see if i can make whatever you guys plan.

Still here as well. I don't get around much anymore, but I do still have my account set up to email me with messages....You know, just in case.

Posted by: postalUT

I just moved into an apartment on Chapman Highway and didn't have internet until my downstairs neighbor signed up for comcast wireless.

Speaking of local stuff. I saw a black 02 LSE at a tiny auto dealer across the street from CiCi's on Kingston Pike down by the West Town Mall. At first I thought it was Brandon's but the windows weren't tinted. I didn't get a really good look at it but it seemed in good condition.

I'm down for another meet as long as I have enough time to request off work. The last two weeks of August are out since that will be the first week of school and also Rush week and I will be overwhelmed with Fraternity responsibilities.

Posted by: postalUT

UPDATE: There is a black on black '02 LSE at Roadside auto on Kingston Pike.

hello to all!!!

NICE Mark Warlock! Have i seen you in nashville before?

thanks, sweet lookin ride you've got yourself. nashville? it's been a few years since i was there, didn't have the mark then.

I'm still above ground, this retirement isn't all it's cracked up to be. Think I've been working more than I did before.

Posted by: priestview

'02 Continental. I'm in Smyrna about 12 miles S.E on I-24. When I get around to it I'll post a pic of the bike I sold to buy this car. I'll be doing performance mods over time. I seem to be the only one on this site playing with a late model Continental, so I'm not sure what's available beyond the standard cold air and chip.
