whats the best way/place(dealer or can my mechanic help me) to get a new remote for the key/lock? ive had my '98 white on white signature for a year now(its a great car!!!.. i got it with only 69000 miles on it and have since put 20000 more on it in a year)..but the remote has been getting weaker and weaker.noe even when im standing right next to it it doesnt always respond.

i dont know. i just drive lincolns.. not fix them,unforunately. it would seem like a batery but when this happened on my 97 continental the dealer i wentr to to ask them about it,hooked me up with a new on and had to program it. i was lookin on ebay though and saw a bunch for sale with programing instructions. are they for real? as in ok to buy/use? they were $19 + shipping. maybe this will be my first attemt at car repair
