As I said in a previous thread I'd like to talk to a fiberglass fabricator & propose that he make these hoods, if he thought it might be worth his while I think he'd considerate it. What I'm asking is, how many guys in here would like 1 of these hoods & if I can talk the fabricator into making them who would be willing to send this person a deposit. It would have to be enough guys that would warrant him to make prototype. Simple !!!

I'm in...stra dog's car kicks ASS! I have the same car, and have always loved the R hood...after seeing it on his car...I MUST have one.

I might have a source though...I'll check into it, and get back to you.

I'm thinkin' it costs $500-$600.

Everything seems to cost $500-$600 on my car.

4.10s = $500

Exhaust = $600

Chip/MAF/Filter = $500

MMx Driveshaft = $500

Tires = $600

Converter $600

HIDs = $500-$600

The beat goes on....

Seriously, my hood and front bumper needs painted... what better time to upgrade? It's gotta be painted anyways. See how my mind works?

Just makes it look like S H I T IF you know what Im saying. Im all for that stuff but don't mess with the lines dude the car is HOT. and there is such a thing as fixing it till it brakes. IE book shelf wings and stuff tike that. that is not what a lincoln is all about. you did not buy a MARKVIII so you could make it look like a stang. Keep it Lincoln. If it is custom made to fit then change it.

How is it rice....that is what I would like to know.....those idiotic freakin bleacher seats are rice....that is a very classy and tasteful addition the back of a Mark VIII.

I can see why Clown thinks the lines are classy, and I agree. However, unless Clown wants to make a few payments on my ride, or help me stuff a tranny, mod the engine, or polish it...he really doesnt have a say in what I do to my car.

Clown, in some cases, form FOLLOWS function. If you are adding a Cobra intake to a Gen 1 mark VIII, you need to have a cowl hood. Either that, or hack the rear support for clearance. Or, shim the K-member to lower the engine. The Cobra R hood is a FINCTIONAL body panel...with added clearance for certain power adders.

For example, cigarette lighters dont look good stuffed into the ergonomically contoured center console area of a mark VIII...but you dont seem to mind. Black, ugly round knob, doesnt fit the design of the car, and is an eye-sore...but it powers your cell phone charger, and lights yo smoke! Form...follows...function!

Now that we got another "opinion" out of the way...I believe this thread was design to poll interest in Cobra R hoods, not bash them, and spoilers, and anything else UN-RELATED!

I'd like to have Geno's wing and the Cobra R hood. Yesterday I bought a used cobra R so I can go about it the old fashioned way...actually getting the "R" section cut and grafted onto my Mark's hood. A friend of mine here does some good custom work. Look around. I got this hood chipped in the front corner for $50. It's worthless to a mustang guy/gal but, it's just what I needed.
The wing is still a dream. Geno, I'm looking for someone to make it. Are you sure I couldn't throw you and extra $100 or so, to make me one??? hehehe

Those mark's with the wings are seriously nice, Especially the blue and purplish one. That wing looks super elegant and adds to the overall flow of the car's already sweeping lines. Where can I get that for my 94 mark?

There are quite a few in other threads, but none for the Gen 2's. No one currently makes them since it is more work involved than with a Gen 1.

To me the factory HUMP lines of the VIII just didnt do it for me, still doesn't. The hump isnt pronounced enough, either make it a hump or not, to me it looks unfinished, much like an Infinity J30 ass end. So we had the LMS wing made, with the specific intention of looking like a factory option, which it does, DEAD ON too.
To say rice is the real joke here, take another look from other angles. Its actually very SLAMMIN!! Gives the car an amazing new look from every angle. Hell I loved it so much I had it grafted to my trunk for LIFE.

Man, this is gettin scary......again I have to agree with Geno on this....the rear spoiler is ON POINT!!!!

So Geno, is there anything you can do to get this back into production... I'm a definent buyer even if it costs $400... Because that piece just sets it off like a mofo, esp. with the hood I have on it now. I have too much attention in the front and that wing would look killer in the back.

Also, Geno are you running 275's in the rear? I just want to make sure there are no clearance issues, while sensor lowered and slammed. Also how mch did those tires cost ya.. G-force KDW's are going to run me a bit high, but I got em on my 16's now and love em'.

Like I said from the get go I need a manufacturer that can construct, package and ship.

Yes I am running 275/40's on my new 18's I will be running 275/35's in the rear. I use Sumitomo Exclusively, LOVE them, wouldn't trade them for ANY over priced over rated tire out there. There AMAZING and dirt cheap. Guilt FREE burnouts!!

Pretty much just get a saw zawl and cut out a whole on the bumper.... LOL. I was walking around Home Depot and found that spacer/duct that is in place with the bumper.

It was my stupid idea, but actually, it's different and has great functions. More cool free flowing air straight into a K&N conical filter. I still have to get a 4" aluminum tube and customize it more, but for now it serves it's purpose; more air. I'll post new pics once they are available.

Now to Geno, thanks a ton for the info... Those tires actually resemble the belly of a Cobra, LOL. Of course you were going for that , Geesh. Are you going to sell the 17's, if so, I'm game. Hit me up if you are. I wanted to go 18's in the Cobra R's but wanted a nice wide tire in back and didn't know the clearance with the 18's.

Oh, I want to use my LMS VIP card now so set aside that one LMS wing. I'll send you the billing and shipping information.

Thats exactly how I feel about the Kumho's I just bought. I balk at the nay-sayers...I paid $58 per tire...(245/50-16), and I can light them up for miles, knwoing they are so darn cheap.

Oh, and they actually do pretty good in the rain.

Very similar to the Sumi's...

a cobra R hood is a very sound investment in my opinion.... a real head turner lol. As far as a wing tho, i want one of the flat off the back kind, like pro street or sumtin. That salt flat racer mark8 wit the rocket has the wing im talkin about.

Yes, we need wings, 3 peice wings, we need a whole bucket of wings,hoods can still be had, or made with an aftermarket scoop,wings on the other hand,aren't made anymore, and maybe it's just me, but i'd rather have the wing before the hood,it just looks better,they go together,a hood without a 3 peice wing? that's like Rick james without Dave Chappelle, or however you spell it.
