In God We Trust (MSNBC Poll)

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Check out the results of the link below. I would imagine this is not at all how liberal, left wing, MSNBC thought this would go. Morevoer, I seriously doubt Oblerman will be reporting the results to this. Perhaps there is still hope for our country yet.

Oh the left nuts can't be happy...

...because we all know how reliable online polls are.

Seriously, even I voted "no" and you all consider me to be a "left nut".

It seems that 20% of the people who believe in God don't trust Him on the currency.
That seems a little odd.
I thought the yes numbers would be higher.

sorry
I meant the no numbers.

You are perplexing at times, I'll give you that.

We should replace it with "In Obama we Trust"

Here is another interesting article with some relevance to this thread...

I just don't see this as something that we need to be worrying about right now, or ever. The vast majority of Americans aren't offended by the motto, regardless of the results of this poll. I'd surmise that it's not even a matter of separation of church and state for most people as much as it is tradition. We've had the motto on our currency since the Reconstruction. It's not worth tearing the country apart over something so innocuous, just to placate a few dimwits whose only goal is to invoke outrage. What they don't realize (or perhaps they do) is that these perceived attacks on religion, and Christianity in particular, only serve to strengthen and mobilize those people who would like to turn our country into a theocracy.

So while I voted "no", I think we can agree that it's for a completely different reason than you would have.

On the contrary, it only takes a minority of people to change laws and customs for the rest of the majority, because the court system is the rudder that steers this nation. A few people can thwart the will of the majority by getting activist judges to legislate from the bench.
