A/C Filter

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok guys, my car is telling me i need to change my A/C Filter, that does mean the cabin filter right? I'm at 7% right now

So i finally took the time to read the manual today and found out that i can access the filter from under the hood removing that plastic piece near the windshield .. Vedddi niice ..

Well main reason for this thread is, do i have to buy the filter at Ford or can i just pick it up at AutoZone or Advance or w/e ?

Yes, you can get one from advance, I got mine there. Can't say for sure about Autozone, but I'll never use them again anyway.

You might try vacuuming the used filter to save the $.

Don't even buy one! Just dust it off, blow it out with compressed air and it should be fine. Most members on LVC do just that. Also, spray some Febreze on it for a nice smell in your cabin. I have never replaced my filter, it just does not get that dirty unless you drive in Saudi Arabia.

I bought mine online and saved about 30% (plus tax!!). All of the parts stores in my area listed them, but none of them stocked the exact part # for the LS.

I got a nice charcoal one off eBay for like $15. It was a lot bigger/better looking than the stock Ford one.

or Arizona, they are 30.40 retail and $17.78 LVC cost.

The activated charcoal helps remove oder as well as particulates, mine is a Bosch.

My message has come on twice in the little over a year and a half that I've had the car. I just reset the message center. Haven't even pulled the thing out to bang out whatever dust is in it.

Removing was a piece of cake, i pushed down on the middle button, now i put it back in i broke like 4 out of the 5 clips that was there.
