Has anyone ever figured out why the engine stutters at high rpm's.

Nope. It's one of life's greatest mysteries!

The answer is either 42, or 3. The world may never know.

v6 or v8?

Posted by: jbas9210

It has the V8.

I hope you arent referring to the rev limiter kicking in while in neutral...

Posted by: jbas9210

It happens when I'm just cruising around and decide to pass someone or just playing around.

are you using the SST or shifting it yourself, or are you using the auto?

Posted by: jbas9210

I am just driving it in auto. It does it around 5k and up rpm's.

You said you changed the plugs and coils, but what was your reasoning for changing them? Was there oil in the plug wells? If there was, did you also change the valve cover gaskets? Did you get new boots with the coils? A little information will help us help you.

Posted by: jbas9210

I was told that they were the problem. I did not notice any oil on the plugs. The coils came with new boots.

Posted by: NYC LS8

Ever notice a check engine light? Ever had the car scanned for any stored codes?

Posted by: lseguy

You replaced ALL coils and ALL plugs. Correct?

Posted by: jbas9210

The check engine light has never come on with me. The previous owner said the light came on with them and when the had it checked it told them about replacing coils. I have replaced all coils.

What are the best mods you can do? I also heard you do not need to change the trans filter, what do yall think?

Posted by: lseguy

Transmission fluid and filter is lifetime, per Ford/Lincoln Mercury. Change it at your own risk.
