noticed it after getting back from the car wash. their policy states they arenot liable for any damage you discover once it's driven off their lot. dammit! oh well it was probably cracked and waiting to split anyways, but still an annoying way to find out. luckily Max has got that part for a good price so i'll be ordering it soon.

thats what happenes at a "line" car wash. Those places CAN be so bad for your paint (or bumper

). just me, do it yourself.

i do it myself 99% of the time. i'm in an apartment but fortunate to have a hose and a private parking lot to do it. i usually spend an hour washing and detailing it every other weekend. this was the one time i took it in to some place, and look what happened, lol.

At least you are able to wash your car at home. Cobb County Georgia has an outdoor watering ban and you cannot water lawns, pressure wash or wash cars. It sucks. First time caught is a warning, which the wife has already received, second time is $250 fine, third is $500 and fourth they shut the water off. Welcome to the drought in the South.

dang and i thought it was bad in SoCal. LA just passed legislation to limit the hours you can water stuff and will keep tightening that as time goes on, but there's no ban. crazy when you think about how much water is on the planet and how we waste so much of it to where it becomes a serious issue.

Yep I do. Also, the county closed down all car washes that did not recycle their water. So they either went out of business or had to invest in equipment to recycle the waist water.

yea that sucks fat booty.

I had that part replaced recently because it was getting kind of faded. I think it was like $90 at the dealer. You need to remove the bumper to change it. Few clips to cut.

That sucks! I think the person who owned my car before me took it into one of those detailing car wash places every week(we have The WashTub out here). The reason I say that is because there is a bunch of swirls in the clear coat of the paint where someone was drying it with the same crappy towle that’s been used on 1,000 other cars! Now whenever my car is clean it’s a 10ft car. Looks great from 10ft away!

Northern VA had a ban last summer. Friend of mine opted to bring his hose into his garage, crack the garage door slightly, and carefully wash the car in the garage, and let the water run out the opened door. All done later at night. Wrong..but effective.

I almost has a heart attack when I saw how the car wash across from me washes their cars. Ready for this?...

They first vacuum the inside.
Then they spray some anti goo stuff on the wheels, tires, and lower trim all around.
Next, without first making the car wet (as if that would help anyway), they vigorously scrub the sides with soaped up brooms. The thicker wider floor dusting brooms. They forcefully scrub the entire car with that. Then it goes into the "factory".
I see brand new expensive cars go into that wash. It hurts..
