Fan Speed Control

For about a week, my AC fan motor only seems to want to run at full speed or nothing. Although this occurs intermittently. When on Auto, once the desired temperature is reached, the fan motor tries to lower speed and jumps back and forth between a medium speed and high speed repeatedly. It will do this until I raise or lower the temp setting at which time it will either begin running at high speed or drop to the lowest speed. Seems like all of the middle speeds are unavailable. The fan does not appear to be affected by bumps and always runs...just not at the appropriate speeds. Is this a fan speed control module or what?
