In my 2001 Continental, my rear windows will only work "sometimes." The rear-drivers side hasn't worked for almost a year now, and the passengers side rear window works occasionally. Because they seem to work occasionally, could this mean the window motors are going bad? I was also wondering if the connectors to the switches might me malfunctioning or becoming disconnected...I can hear a clicking sound when I try to use either the master switches or the rear switches...Is there a way just to pull the switch panel out of the rear door panels, or do I have to completely remove the rear door panel? I tried looking, but the only screws I could find were in the bottom of the hand grab (there are 2 hidden under a vanity cover) and when I removed them nothing seemed to budge. When I removed the two screws, I tried to gently pry off the panel with a screw driver, but I didn't want to damage it if I wasn't supposed to be doing that. Any help is graciously appreciated.
Also, if it may be the window motors, how expensive/hard is that to fix yourself? I am somewhat mechanically inclined and I have a little bit of spare time coming in the future, but I might use that to conquer my blend door actuator problem in my Mark VIII. Thanks!

Those motors for the rear are p/n's f5oy5423394(r)/5(l) and list for 138.28 each and have a 30.00 core charge. LVC would be 99.56 each plus the core and shipping. Rear windows stall because lack of use. so it is most likely the motors. Window motors are mostly not a big deal once the door panel is apart. Just be carefull the window dont drop on your hand while removing the motor. The blend door motor is another story. It can take 8 hours if you never did one.
